Cleansing of America
(Preview)
I have been studying the book The Cleansing Of America by W. Cleon Skousen. Using the following scriptures, the author makes a case for the real cleansing being by a "scourge". And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a light shall break forth among them that shall sit in darkness...

Oil Spill

I saw something interesting yesterday, a bit troublesome. I never watch the guy but there was a video of MSNBC's Keith Olberman interviewing some oil expert and they were discussing a "doomsday" scenario. That would be that the actual sea floor above the oil well has been cleaved or bre...

Religious persecution

A long time ago I told my family that when the sins of the world descended to greater depths, they could see for themselves when we were ripening in iniquity. IOW, in the 60s, sexual sins were being promoted, and then the murder of innocents in abortion. As society kept changing from the prevalent sin to...

Danger lies ahead
(Preview)
Imagine, if you would please, a large party of rafters paddling and cruising down a river. Their guide calls to them its time to turn around and paddle back upstream, as danger lies ahead. But the current is flowing faster now, and the ride is much more fun and exciting, so the party ignores the warning a...

Personal debt

It's interesting to watch things unfold from the perspective we have. We've been told for years and years to get out of debt, especially credit card debt. When it was easy to move balances around to low-or no- balance cards every few months, it was hard to think that getting them paid off was a priority....

Gloom and Doom vs Warning your neighbor

Jen mentioned in another thread that she's tired of gloom and doom. This got me to wondering: when do you cross the line from warning your neighbor (we're told by scripture that if we've been warned, we should warn our neighbor) to spreading gloom and doom? Pres. Hinckley, one of the greatest optomist...
