Stockbrokers praying?

There's a forum for those serious about the stock market and investing and such. Recently someone started a prayer thread there. Highly unusual to say the least.

http://www.tickerforum.org/cgi-ticke...www?post=39126

Here's the prayer they suggest over at Tickerforum:

"Lord, we know our country is in trouble. We know those in power, those with the money, are doing the wrong thing. We know that with you, with your infinite power, all things are possible. So with bended knee and bowed heads, we implore your help in ridding our county of those who would tear our country down. Transform our words and voices into thunder that would cause the bankers and politicians to shake with fear, to know that you are the Lord, as we do. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen."

someone's comments on that prayer:

On the surface this seems like a pretty good idea. But consider for a minute what America has done in the last 50 or so years.

We kicked prayer (and God) out of the schools.

We've legalized baby killing.

We've become smut peddlers to the world (the porn industry).

We've become a hedonistic, self centered, Godless society interested, primarily, in gadgets, wealth, sports and big government to be our god.

We are more concerned with global warming than global sinning.

I really can't see God turning things around without our society turning away from sin and repenting of our filthy sinful ways. God brings judgment so that people will repent. We are, as a country, getting the judgment we deserve.

It's like the Bible says:

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We can pray for individual protection and His blessing if we turn to Him, repent and "walk right" in His eyes.
