First, this is a genuine question i have had for about 17 years now. Why, (and I admit this probably happens in Utah more than anywhere else), but, why do people who have no activity in the church whatsoever....living together, drinkers and partyers, no home teachers, thanks anyway, what have you, wi...

I don't know how many of you ladies (or men) have looked at this month's visiting teaching message, but I went visiting teaching yesterday and there is a quote from Elder Dallin H. Oaks in there that had me wondering. I tried to center my message around this. Anne C Pingree quoted Elder Oaks in the arti...

15 Behold, I say unto you, the redemption of Zion must needs come by power; 16 Therefore, I will raise up unto my people a man, who shall lead them like as Moses led the children of Israel. 17 For ye are the children of Israel, and of the seed of Abraham, and ye must needs be led out of bondage by power,...

It was interesting read about the experiences of those in Africa, seeing angels and three hour testimony meetings, and the comments about not seeing angels when they are around us. Especially, the comments by Elder Busche regarding angels appearing to us and calling us to repentance. I have reall...

I heard recently, can't remember where or from whom, that a lot of problems in living the gospel, be it the fullness or part of it if that is all one has, seems to be the found in the notion of WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?). That idea seems to be such a great philosophy at face value, but what it seems to create...

My daughter told me that her 6th grade teacher mentioned in class that Utah was the most depressed state in the nation. She heard it on the news. Why do you think that is? You KNOW it has something to do with the Church. We can't possibly get around that. Cuz you KNOW if we were the least depressed, we (th...

Also, could someone explain to me why this is done? I always just put my offerings in with the same check I write for tithing. Today was the first time I've ever had a YM at my door asking for my fast offering. I had heard some places still did this, but had never lived in one of those places.

We had a very touching testimony meeting today. Both the Bishop and his wife bore testimony and it was touching. A young kid...the only young one who stood got up and rather than giving a "thank-you-mony" he said, "I have a testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith and Gordon B. Hinck...

I have been reading the Ensign and wondering if everyone has a hard time picking a 'favorite' message, or if it's just me?
