I think they made a good choice for 2nd Counselor. I don't know much about Elder Cook, but I hope to find out more.

yep... prayer of thanksgiving... Or were you talking about arbi's comment?

ETA: I have great faith in both men, and a stong confidence in their abilities... though I do not know them, I have no doubt of the divinity of their callings.

In general, I am just grateful for Conference... So far... EVERY talk was for me...

I always enjoy listening to former Elder Eyring, now President Eyring. He's a very sensitive, sweet man IMO.

I heard part of Elder Eyring's talking at the live press conference after the first session. He already seems to comprehend the nature of this calling very well. I also felt the Spirit when it was announced. We are so fortunate to have continuing revelation.

I got to meet Elder Cook with Elder Hinckley when they came to our stake for the Gladys Knight presentations. He was on my short list.

Elder Eyring on the other hand was not even on my Radar!

Funny thing. I've never been a big Eyring fan but after the call was made and I heard him speak I knew he was the guy and had a different view of the man. Same thing with Elder Cook. Does anyone know if Elder Cook is related at all to the Gene R. Cook? I don't know much about the guy.

I was disappointed that I was not able to see President Eyring when he came her for Stake Conference a few years ago. I have paid special attention to him since and have gained a lot from his inspired talks. I was happy to hear that he is 2nd Counselor. I did not expect it at all.
