...for there is neither bread in my house ... etc... etc... etc...
Is socialized medicine the harbinger of this prophecy by Isaiah?
Isaiah 3: 7 - In that day shall he swear, saying: I will not be a healer; for in my house there is neither bread nor clothing; make me not a ruler of the people.

I would say that this is more or less a prophecy of people not standing up and being the leaders that will solve the problems (and hence the healer of the land or people) that they have the potential to be because they feel they do not have the resources or capacity to do it.
Of course, I haven't read it in context... Hold please... okay, reading the verses around, I'll say "That's my story and I'm sticking to it" with the caveat that it appears the people will be clammoring for someone to be the leader and take responsibility for the problems the people face.
Don't know if this particular prophesy is about Isaiah's time or the latter-day though. Anyone else have more insight into this?

What's the scripture that talks about three women taking one man to take away their reproach but they want to earn their own bread? I never really understood that one. Any ideas?
Tis verily 7 women and one man. I wonder if this has to do with the end of some great war or something... Though why women would care about getting married implies that marriage is reinstated in society as important enough for women to desire it.

That's why I never understood that scripture. With how little the world seems to care about marriage these days, why would seven women really feel like they had to get married. Most people outside the church just shack up anyway and have kids. I have several employees with kids who have never been married and they don't feel any shame or desire to get married.
