Can you think of anything good to say about the opposition of your own political viewpoint? Here's a thread to try that... it can be enlightening to try...

Yea, I sure can. There was this girl named Carrie in High School that was a flaming liberal democrat. She was completely nuts in her politics but she was sure hot!!!! If only I had seemed a little more open minded........
And have you seen some of the hot celebrity women who are members of PETA! I can agree on that!
I think that the "opposite" political views of mine focus more on the environment, which I wish people who were active and vocal on "my" political side would do more often. Yes, business and fair market and capitalism is important, but we have a stewardship, here. It bothers me that many of "my" side act like the Earth is just here for the trashing.
That is probably it for me, right now. Now that I am thinking about it, I am too far angry with both sides right now to offer much by way of praise. I resist even calling myself a certain party, because BOTH parties have agendas that make me concerned.

This is a difficult one for me. I'm issues-oriented rather than party-oriented. Because I don't ally myself with any one platform, I don't have a distinct group that I can say is in opposition.
Probably the closest thing I can come to is this: I believe the federal government has become far too big and meddles in our personal lives far too much. I believe we should return to a form of government based on a fairly strict adherence to the constitution. I believe the federal government needs to give back to the states the rights and responsibilities described by the constitution.
Those who advocate expanding the federal government usually have worthy goals. And I find myself agreeing with most of their reasons. However, in all the cases I can currently think of, those same goals can be accomplished through means other than expanding the role of the federal government.
