Preparedness in multiple ways...

Here is a link to a real life story told by my wife's brother-in-law.  I may have mentioned this account briefly in other threads...  I didn't know they had posted this publicly.  Anyway, thought some of you may appreciate reading this.  Be advised, it is relatively graphic.

The sister on the phone was my wife.  My wife called them back based on a strong prompting I got from the Spirit.  One small thing they did not include in this story is how he told us that had he not stopped for the brief moment to answer the phone when my wife called back, they would have been on the porch without any cover and without the advantage of being in a dark house when the assailant opened fire.

p.s. The family the man had killed earlier that day are buried within 10 yards of my parents graves.

Wow!  What a horrible thing to have to go through but at least they are alive.  How are they doing today?

They have had a long road to recovery.  Unfortunately, they didn't really get the professional counseling they needed up front to work through it efficiently.  Next Sunday evening, it will be 11 years to the day and day of the week that it happened.  There are some aspects of the trauma that they may never recover from.  It affected a lot of people indirectly as well.  Certainly the extended family.  The murderer was a man who had been excommunicated from the church.  He had siblings who were and are still very active in the Church.  And, they were / are friends of my wife's family.  My wife and I knew the daughter and son-in-law of the man he killed (who was on the phone with his daughter at the time) since he couldn't get to her.

Really sad story. There are days when i think I should get a firearm to protect my family  Heck, there are other days when I think I should get a circular saw and a hammer and nails, and a paintbrush... to fix up the house...

YOU DON'T HAVE A CIRCULAR SAW!?

What kind of man are you, Ray?

I'm very disappointed in you.
