Water barrels

I think I've mentioned before that, if there's a soda bottling plant nearby (such as Coke or Pepsi) you can frequently get used 55 gallon food grade barrels from them. Another thing I discovered is that honey producers use 55 gallon food grade barrels as well. There is a honey producer in my area that sells 55 gallon steel drums for $10 each. I can think of worse things than my storage water tasting like honey. In fact, I've experienced worse. My current water barrel is a milspec rubber drum, so the water I tried from it tasted like rubber after a while.

We got 3 barrels from the local Coke plant. We just can't figure out where to store them when they're filled.

Yep - a quick google search and I got 6 55-gal plastic drums for cheap. They'd been used for syrup once. It took several hours to wash them out, but we had fun doing it, what with the filling them halfway with water and soap, then rolling them down a hill.
