Well, Obama has finally announced his VP pick, and I'm deeply glad because now I won't have to listen to the endless speculation about who it's going to be and when he's going to announce it. I am curious why he chose a known plagiarizer for his VP. Biden had a presidential campaign end because of a plagiary scandal.

Maybe he should have nominated Charles Manson then. You know, great name recognition...

While there are a few things I do like about him, there are many things I don't like about him straight from his website: He is proud of opposing Robert Bork, Roberts, and Samuel Alito. He wants to give gay couples all the federal tax benefits of marriage. He wants to continue affirmative action. He supported the farm bill, especially the ethanol porkbarrel portions. He voted for the Iraq war. He wants to expand the military-industrial complex He wants to create new federal beaurocracies. It appears he wants to bail out (with our tax money) banks and those who didn't pay their mortgages. He supported the Medicare Part D boondoggle. He is a staunch supporter of abortion.
I'm sure I could find more things, especially if I went to a website that doesn't like him.
My coworkers speak so highly of Obama and Biden, but personally I wouldn't trust them farther than I could throw a sherman tank.

I truly would like to speak with someone who likes Obama. I want to try to understand why they think he will make a good president. No arguing, no trying to convince them that they are misguided....just some questions to understand. Because all I hear when he speaks is "socialism....socialism.....socialism....to prepare for communism...."

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
Latter-day Saints have been told a number of times in years past to avoid socialism. Marion G. Romney said in the April 1966 General Conference: " I pray...That we will develop the understanding, the desire, and the courage born of the spirit to eschew socialism and to support and to sustain, in the manner revealed and as interpreted by the Lord, those just and holy principles embodied in the Constitution of the United States for the protection of all flesh, in the exercise of their God-given agency." David O. McKay, Ezra Taft Benson, and Howard W. Hunter were also among those General Authorities who spoke out stringly against socialism.
In spite of that, I have noted that many members espouse certain socialist principles. Mitt Romney's mandatory health care program in Massachusetts is socialist. I occasionally check the congressional voting records and note that every single LDS now in Congress has at different times supported and/or proposed programs which involuntarily transfer wealth from one person to another. And I've found many members who also support certain socialist government programs and/or legislation.
So Lundie, what will you do if you get elected on a write in campaign, and someone offers you a bribe in the multiple millions of dollars to vote for bad legislation? Or how about if they threaten your family if you don't vote for it?
