It pains me to say it, but at this point in time, I think Obama will get it. He's so popular and voters are too lazy to listen/find out what he believes.
I'm not ruling out the chance that people will see the light regarding Obama before election....:fingerscrossed:

I remember the spanking Cheney gave John Edwards in the debates. I'm thinking McCain can still win if he suckers Obama into a similar series of debates. Obama is a stellar orator, but since he only has about 3 brain cells to rub against his few meager years experience, he'd lose any debate against McCain.
All that said, I'm guessing Obama.

Everyone keeps saying that Obama is a stellar orator, but every time I hear him, I think that David Letterman is going to have at least 4 more years of "Great Moments in Presidential Speeches". He stuters and stammers and has trouble pulling his thoughts together. That and his campaign of "unity, change, and hope" mean he is exactly the same candidate as President Bush was.
I was thinking exactly the same thing, Organist. Whenever I listen to Obama, I rapidly get annoyed with his habit of pausing every four or five words. I can't decide if he's pausing for effect, letting the ignorant masses' brains catch up, or if he lost his place in the speech.
I'm bumping this thread to see if your opinions have changed in the intervening 3-4 months.

I've changed my mind. I think that McCain is going to be elected. For one thing, I heard a radio show with a guy who claims excellent sources. He had predicted in July that oil would drop to $50 a barrel, and that is close to happening. He also said that McCain would be elected. Obviously, that's not a definite thing. But if there were riots because McCain were elected that would make it easier to crack down on our liberties.

McCain is our senator. I voted for him the first time he ran for the Senate, and sortly after participated in a movement to recall him by gathering signatures. I consider him more evil than Obama as a person. Regardless of what he has said, he voted for the "bailout" and will no doubt support more such, he will not oppose the evils of fiat money and insider trading and speculation that has brought our nation to economic destruction, he has supported illegal immigration and amnesty, he is opposed to private posession of guns, he supports military intervention in other countries, he supports the United Nations and global government, he favours a socialist national health insurance program, he helped shoot down efforts to investigate evidences of MIAs and POWs left behind in Vietnam, he did not receive a raise in rank upon returning from captivity in North Vietnam as nearly all other POWs did, and I believe could be "swiftboated" more severly than Kerry was 4 years ago for his conduct as a POW.
If only Americans could stop voting for the "lesser of two evils," and make a firm commitment always to vote only for principled candidates who will defend our liberty without compromise. As much as I wish it would happen, I believe it will not happen until after the prophecied seperation of the wheat and the tares.
That's interesting, Arbi. My feelings today have been pretty strong that Obama will be elected. Sadly I don't know if I care either way anymore, I'm not sure either one is what this country needs.

I feel like taking our preparedness food and gear, and going up into the mountains and just watching the fulfillment of those "if you don't repent" prophecies be fulfilled. Especially the ones from Joseph Smith and Ezra Taft Benson. But I will have to come back later this month for the Arizona Constitution Party convention, and then maybe I'll feel like getting back into the freedom fight.

Who is predicting Obama will be assassinated or even shot at? He has as likely a chance as anyone becoming president. Which, in the 20th century was a pretty good chance compared to the general population.
I was just watching live coverage of the Obama victory rally. All those gloating people...It made me want to puke. Trying to be graceful in defeat....losing......strength.........can't.....cope...........
Speechless. I'll really start to worry if Prop. 8 doesn't pass, but so far the numbers look good. Similar propositions in Florida and Arizona are projected to pass, so hooray for those victories!

The Arizona version of Prop 8, Prop 102, is ahead by only 56% to 44%, which is not all that great, considering the push by the LDS Church, the Catholic Church, and other Christian churches. A slim margin like that will sorely tempt opponents to try to repeal the amendment to the Arizona Constitution if and when it is ratified.
I woke up this morning in a different country, although my physical location was the same. I really doubt the honesty of the polls, especially when the very conservative county I live in showed a liberal democrat winning a congressional seat over a republican by a wide margin. Especially when Republicans won other elections. I am glad that Prop 8 in California seems to be passing.
