Church Resources on emergency preparedness

Providentliving.org continues to be a cool resource.  New section on Emergency Preparadness topics including pandemic influenza:

Emergency Preparedness

Members of the Church have been counseled for many years to be prepared for adversity. Preparation, both spiritual and temporal, can dispel fear. With the guidance of Church leaders, individual members and families should prepare to be self-reliant in times of personal or widespread emergency.

I've been interested in this pandemic/infectious disease topic for some time- reading about it for around 13 years now. I really think this is a possibility.

Our ward newsletter had a little do-dad that asked if anyone's taken the CERTS training. I remember receiving an email from mirk about this a bit ago. I thought at the time it looked like a good thing to do (but you know, it's always the time factor-- 5 kids, etc.). But now that it's come up in my face again, I think I'm going to look into it.

Cool, thanks for the update. I knew this info was coming to the website, but thought it was going to be a little later in the summer. I'll be checking that when I'm done here.

I just learned about CERT myself - I think I'll go do their two day training later this year.
