I have had to take the unfortunate step of banning RayB. Ray has recently repeatedly violated the rules of this forum, apparently with the aim of testing the moderation system. According to the rules of this forum:
If you choose to not abide by the rules, your posting privileges may be suspended or you may be banned. I would have been willing to overlook even his repeated violations, but he decided to express his displeasure with being moderated by making a post to the moderation area claiming that a discussion had taken place amongst moderators, when no such discussion had taken place. To be clear, Ray has violated the rule of civility by repeatedly baiting people. Ray is welcome to come back if he is willing to abide by the rules of this forum. There is no place here for baiting, for purposely trying to get someone's goat, and for outright lies represented as truth.

BTW, I should have pointed it out at the time, but I learned after the banning action that Ray thought he had a basis for claiming that moderators had agreed to change forum policy. Neither of the other moderators thought that, but I cannot claim honestly that Ray outright lied when he said that the moderators had agreed on a change when he thought he had basis for making such a claim. There was still more than enough basis to ban him. Despite him thinking that there was a basis for such a claim, no such conversation took place. He still was raising cain on the forum, and it was highly improper to announce a "moderation policy change" without first consulting with the other moderators. I really hate to reopen this old wound, but I think it's fair to point out that Ray did not outright lie.
