I deleted a snide comment from the thread Goodbye. It was posted by Hoss. I also deleted a post by Jen referring to Hoss' post. Hoss, we're happy to have you participate here if you abide by the rules of the forum. But this is official warning that willful rulebreaking will not be tolerated.

I could post the text of the deleted message if people feel that it is important.

He said something rude about how he's glad he doesn't participate here anymore. It was unnecessary and I think Arbi's choice to delete it was a good one. Also his choice to delete my comment, which was something like, "Lovely to see you, too." Not necessary and also woudln't make sense.

I agree with Beef. If you post the text, it isn't deleted.
Here is a perfect example of why I believe announcing moderation decisions actually fuels contention -- no one but you and Jen knew about the post, until you announced that Hoss had been snide. Now everyone wants to know what the post was, and Jen has paraphrased it for us, and now we're all reminded what a dork he can be. Again. Complete waste of time and energy, imo.

Well, since we're on the subject of snide comments, perhaps this one should be deleted as well. imho.
I feel that this thread no longer serves any useful purpose, so I have closed it.
