Moved this to the Church News section.
Those are good choices for his counselors. Of course, there weren't any bad choices. I would have liked to see Elder Scott, since, next to Pres. Monson, he is my favorite apostle. But I think Elders Eyring and Uchtdorf are wonderful people. And I will happily sustain them.

For a moment there, I wondered what happened to my thread. It does fit here better.

President Packer ordained and set apart President Monson as President of the Church, Prophet, Seer and Revelator.

President Monson then set apart his counselors and President Packer as Pres. of the Quorum of the Twelve.

It was the same when Gordon B. Hinckley became prophet, Pres. Monson ordained and set him apart. Gordon B. Hinckley ordained and set apart President Hunter... etc... you get the picture.

All fourteen of them hold all of the keys, once a Church president is ordained, then he is head and is the ONLY one who can excercise ALL the priesthood keys.

I thought it was interesting in the press conference how they tried to make a big deal out of the fact that Pres. Uchtdorf was from out of the country.

Fact is, Marion G. Romney was born in Mexico. Anthon Lund was from Denmark and John Taylor was from Canada and born in England... all of them serving in the First Presidency.

There have been other apostles from outside the US also. One was from Ireland a couple others from England.
