The Hucksters latest ploy

So he calls a press conference and says, "I'm not going to go negative, but if I were, this is what I would show" ... and then proceeds to show a negative Romney add where every other second he calls him deceitful.

Since he doesn't have the funds to pay for negative adds, he uses the press.

Talk about deceitful!!

My wife and I both took belle's test on ABC.

My first choice ended up as Mitt, followed by Duncan Hunter and Rudy.
Hers was Mitt, Rudy and Huckabee. I really gave her a bad time about that one.
Neither of us would EVER vote for Rudy.

And here is some more to think about as a Latter-day Saint... I've seen various versions of this, but thought this was the most hillarious.

A Washington, DC. top congressional policy advisor who is also LDS, has said the vast majority of GOP congressmen are endorsing Mitt Romney.

He thought a Mitt presidency was no longer improbable, but, it is now something that 'could happen.'

So..., if Mitt Romney became President of the US (code name POTUS) won't we have something we've never had before -- a president who goes to a specific church?

All other presidents belonged to religions that didn't have tight congregational boundaries. Now, think about that:

What Ward would POTUS be in?

If you are his new Bishop, here are your top 10 questions:

1. Will you allow an inaugural ball to be held in the cultural hall? Do you mount security cameras on top of each basketball rim and have a secret service detail stationed on the stage?

2. Can you call Mitt and Ann as the Nursery leaders... even if you really feel inspired?

3. Who is going to home teach them? Will you call someone who needs activation but may not pass the vetting and national security screening?

4. If Harry Reid and Mitt Romney are in the same High Priest group, will you need to be there to keep order?

5. Exactly how will tithing settlement work? Will the Secretary of the Treasury come too?

6. Will you be inviting the new Romney family to speak in Sacrament Meeting... and if they go a little over at what point do you ask them to sit down?

7. Will the Secret Service do a sweep of the building before each meeting? And if the Romney's always leave before Sunday School, will the Sunday School president need to interview them? If they stay, where will you hold the class?

8. Can you call the Secret Service agents to help out in Primary?

9. If you give Mitt a calling and the two Democrats in the Ward raise their hand AGAINST sustaining him - partly out of habit - does the Supreme Court need to be involved?

10. If you can't give them a calling (job), and they don't attend very often (for presidential stuff) will that mean they're 'inactive?' If they're not active, can you give them a Temple Recommend? And if you do, can they go? Will the Secret Service have to screen the temple too?

11. If the President wants to hold Sacrament Meeting at Camp David or the White House for security reasons, is that a conflict of Church and State?

If you're assigned to be the Romney's home teacher:

1. Can you just drop by, no appointment?

2. Can you even call them for an appointment or do you have to go through the Chief of Staff?

3. Can you bring by Christmas sweets and cookies? Will they be analyzed? And for how many people - family, secret service details?

4. If you don't come can the IRS do an audit on you?

5. Will they want to do a national security background check?

6. Do you have to have a permanent companion who has been vetted? Can you just grab any teacher or priest to come with you? And what if that priest has been a little wayward? Do you need to search him first?

7. Does the Elders Quorum have to help him move in and out of the White House?

8. If Ann Romney gets sick, are you allowed to bring in meals or at least tell the Relief Society about it?

9. What can you share with the Bishop about the Romneys?

10. Do you have to ask them about their year's supply?

11. If you get a late night call for a blessing will reporters follow you around wanting to know what was wrong and what you said?

If Mitt Romney is assigned to be YOUR home teacher:

1. Is telling the group leader you haven't been home taught a national security breech?

2. If he wants to come at the end of the month, do you accept his reason, "I've been out of town"?

3. Will he drop by unannounced or will the media crews give him away?

Happy New Year!

Is the White House up for a stop on a Progressive Dinner ward activity? Or maybe a Memorial Day dutch oven chicken / potatoes ward picnic on the South Lawn? I'm sure that folks could find an extra plate for any foreign visitors that happen to be spending time there... wink.gif

Just cuz he's getting attention, it doesn't seem to be very positive, imo. I think everyone and their dog can see through this guy. Phoney, phoney, phoney. I'm telling you, by next week, he'll be forgotten. Mormons piss him off and he's acting like a Jr. High bully.

sadly, the bully pulpit (pun TOTALLY intended) is getting Hucksterbee some press and not all of it is negative.

he doesn't seem to be a man of integrity with this latest stunt of showing his negativity to the press like some kind of badge of personal honor.

Huckabee

Mike Huckabee has named Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, as his advisor on foreign policy. He seems to believe that the United States and every other country must surrender its sovereignty to international or global entities. On February 21, 2006, Haass wrote a column for the Taipei Times entitled, "State Sovereignty Must be Altered in Globalized Era."
http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/editorials/archives/2006/02/21/2003294021

This work is an explicit solicitation for global government. It contains statements as: "Moreover, states must be prepared to cede some sovereignty to world bodies if the international system is to function." ...."Globalization thus implies that sovereignty is not only becoming weaker in reality, but that it needs to become weaker. States would be wise to weaken sovereignty in order to protect themselves . . . Sovereignty is no longer a sanctuary." ....."The goal should be to redefine sovereignty for the era of globalization, to find a balance between a world of fully sovereign states and an international system of either world government or anarchy."

The Hucksters latest ploy

While we are living in these, the latter days, it does bear noting that the evils and designs of men are becoming less subtle as the time for the ultimate choice arrives.

I just keep singing to myself 'who's on the Lord's side, who? now is the time to show...'

An organization called Campaign for Children and Families ( http://www.savecalifornia.com ) did a report card of sorts showing that Huckabee and Paul are the most family an children friendly candidates. On a scale of 0-7 they both scored 7. It can be seen at: http://www.savecalifornia.com and clikc on Presidential Report Card, or go straight to

Well... the family thing is good, I guess. Not that it'll matter much cuz he's going DOWN.

But the whole idea of relinquishing sovereignty really chaps my hide. I feel like that's going to be the beginning of the end.

The whole idea of relinquishing sovereignty really should chap one's hide. I doubt many realize the extent to which the USA has lost sovereignty. In my lifetime we've had the United Nations dictating when and how we will fight wars, we've had the EU forbidding the merger of General Electric Co. and Honeywell, we have a North American Union in the making which will dictate trade policies of private US companies, and an organization based in NYC called the Council on Foreign Relations that exerts great influence over the US government and has as its goal regional governments and ultimately a single world government. And BTW, note the affiliations of each of the presidential candidates with the CFR.

From Huckaby in NH:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/01/06/AR2008010602261_pf.html

A pastor from Texas was scheduled to deliver the sermon Sunday at a church here called the Crossing.

But instead this small evangelical congregation heard from a different special guest: Baptist minister and 2008 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, who delivered a sermon of more than 20 minutes on how to be part of "God's Army" in the middle school cafeteria where the congregation meets.

"When we become believers, it's as if we have signed up to be part of God's Army, to be soldiers for Christ," Huckabee told the enthusiastic audience.

Huckabaloney's so phoney. He loves to tout the religion to the right audience.... then he'll play it down with people more intent on issues. I wonder if all the Baptists are out telling each other, 'Heck no, I'm not gonna vote for him just cuz he's Baptist.'

Would something like that fly in an LDS sacrament meeting for Brother Romney? Maybe on a fast Sunday?

The Mission President and his wife was a "surprise visitor" to our ward's fast and testimony meeting last sunday, and it amused me to behold how many people bore their testimonies about missionary work, and how great it is to do missionary work. :)

(and No, Coco, I didn't get up... It was one of the few Fast Sundays that I didn't get up... 1)

Everybody knows Beck's got an axe to grind because he's got four wives.

What I wish, is that Mr. uber Christian Sean Hannity would grow a pair and call  Huckabutt on his ethics.
