And Here's a positive future filled with very unsafe politically incorrect sledding! :) In the Millenium, someday I hope to be able to sled with Mitt's family! They look like a fun bunch.

I started looking closer at his record and I don't like what I see. He is saying all the right things and his actions tell a different tale. Kind of like another popular candidate around here.

What other popular candidate? What are you talking about? Huckabee? Ron Paul? I don't get what you're insinuating.
You can choose to believe all the stuff about Mitt you want, that's negative... I don't believe it. And I think most people don't buy into the doom and gloom scenario you wish to believe, but heck, if you wanna push that medicine on people, go right ahead--it's a free country.
But I think Mitt's done his best to raise his family. He clearly cares about the future cuz he has an actual family with kids and grandkids. He is trying to make the country a great place, and I believe he has the organizational skills and leadership prowess to be a good leader.
Perhaps that's what it means to save the constitution... by actually living good decent lives and choosing good decent candidates. Mitt looks like a real standup guy!
GOOOOOO Mitt!!!

I was answering coco's question about Huck. But since you brought up Mitt. His voting record speaks for itself and I think it is pretty bad. He supports things that I don't thus he makes a poor candidate. This isn't about his family, or his religion, or whether or not he is a good member of the church...it's about his politics/record and I don't agree with a lot of his positions.
Oh. I see... So for you it's all about one's voting record alone? There are really no other factors? I suppose that's a decent way to choose a candidate.

Cat Herder wrote:I once called the boys in my Scout Troop a bunch of idiots because of the idiotic and foolish things they were doing (and some of the boys didn't like it)...
That's the BEST you could come up with? I say you're not a true (male) scout leader until you've thrown someone in a lake or something.
Well, actually so far... I've only been the big cheese Scoutmaster since August... give it time... at that same Scout camp, I publicly humiliated all the boys in the troop in front of the rest of the camp as part of their penance for stealing the other troops' flags from their camp sites...
I voted for Jimmy Carter in the mock elections held in fifth grade...
Dude, how DARE you have the temerity to don the MR. Incredible spandex after such an abominable act!
Hey, give me a good paper cut and pour lemon juice on it why doncha... I as in fifth grade and the guy looked more honest to me than Ford. Besides, I was at the end of the line and had to hurry and pull a lever because the call of nature was getting strong! And despite my strong Republican leanings, I still think the man is by and large a decent person, but was too weak to lead the nation effectively during his presidency. And besides, that was well before Mr. Incredible and spandex became kosher for daily wear!

Agreed. He's done much better post-presidency. Might have even made a decent secretary of state. I believe he fully deserved the Nobel Peace prize for his humanitarian work.

I feel he has been worse post-presidency, sticking his liberal nose into places where it didn't belong.
Remember he's the one who praised Chavez in Venezuela... called Bush a criminal for ousting Sadam Husien...
Jimmy Carter had stupid people around him because he isn't very smart.

Ah...labels. What would we do without them. They make judging so much easier.
From a military standpoint, removing Saddam was a strategic error. A little Sun Tzu philosophy here: We've known Saddam for a long time. He had become predictable for us. "Know your enemy" is a key to victory. Four years later and we still don't "know" the enemy who replaced him.
Now, I know there are other viewpoints to consider. Most of them are valid. It seems to me a bit hidebound to summarily dismiss other views as "stupid" just because we have different political loyalties.
