Once when I was preparing to serve a mission, my mother (who is an efficiency expert) took me to get a suit fitted at the local suit-shop in Logan. She was on a tight schedule and the fellow doing the fitting, seemed to have one story after another. I enjoyed the discussion, but my mother took every opportunity to cut the conversation short. He was an elderly gentleman who lamented that people didn't take time to dress nicely anymore, and how times used to be. He didn't seem like the type who had a lot of friends, but he was friendly. The type that's lonely more as an afterthought, than because of personal weakness. One of those fellows who moves at a pace not in accord with the pace of our society. As we left the store, I could tell my mother was unsettled and unpleased by the abnormally long visit, putting her behind on her things to do--that could've been so much more efficient if she'd been doing the job. She remarked in what seemed frustration, "Some people just need to talk and someone to listen to them. We could've spent all day in that store!"

Actually... I was just thinking that I have only been a member since July and I already have over 850 posts. That's not good. Cat said this morning, "Face it, you're addicted." But, it's his fault!
