Self edit requests

This week, I made two requests to Coco to self-edit small portions of posts she made in two LDS Discussion threads.

To avoid confusion and consternation by anyone as a result of these requests, I am posting the reason for the requests here.

The first was in "Topics that employ".  While razzing Ray, her post included the word freaking, which is a euphemistic slang term for two other slang vulgar terms (according to the dictionary) that reference sexual conduct.  The use of this word was not appropriate for civil conversation in a gospel discussion that to that point was talking about repentance and the Atonement.  The rule violation was in reference to Rule 3, and corresponds to open discussions we as a forum have had in recent weeks concerning use of words that are generally considered offensive.

The second was in "Accepting the Standards of the Church".  A comment was made that where the wording could easily have been viewed as disrespectful of a deceased member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, particularly in context of the discussion at the time.  This would be a violation of Rule 2.

In both cases, I made a friendly request she self-edit.  I commend her for doing so and showing consideration to others in the process.  I subsequently removed my request in the second example to tidy the thread back up (as I had quoted the text she edited out).
