He also likes the trunk monkey "pediatric" version...

According to this website by Suburban Auto Group this is a real company...  They have capitalized on this marketing idea and have a store.

Here is a real TV spot about the commercials:

Well, bless your old husk of a heart, Ray. I love love love The Last Unicorn. But much as I like the opening song, this is my favorite:

Since I don't have a link to a U-tube video to post here on the U-tube thread, formerly known as the Salon, which was formally The Saloon, it's too bad I can't post a video of my 4 year old
playing with a toy guitar dancing and singing:

LALALALALALALA! OH YEAH! LALALALALALALA! OH YEAH! LALALALALALALA! OH YEAH!!!

Now that's entertainment folks.

I was thinking about how we're more than willing to share commercials as long as they're funny and on YouTube. If I were a business I'd try to capitalize on that. :)

Of course I have the whole show of the Last Unicorn memorized too... The other night for a bedtime story I started telling the kids the story, they actually like me retelling the story better than watching it... I think it's because I point out little trivial things about the show that most people don't catch up on...

Or the fact that i've read the book too... So Euphie, Have you read the book?

Did you know that when the last unicorn released the animals from mama fortuna's circus, there was one animal that didn't WANT to be released from the illusion? It's not in the movie, but it's pretty interesting and very poetic...

--Ray

PS> You should never run from anything that is immortal. It attracts their attention.

I have indeed read the book. The movie does follow along pretty closely, but there are just a few little differences. smile.gif

Euphie: So do you know which animal didn't want to be let out of Mama Fortuna's?

Also our favorite song was always, "Now that I'm a woman."

I was a little confused growing up... once I pretended to be Wonderwoman (I had a HUGE crush on her, but not knowing what a crush was, so being a prepubescent teen, I did the next best thing... I pretended to BE wonderwoman... yeah, I know... but hey... it's my past, and I'm the one that has to live it down...) at a scouting event. I even used my super leaping skills to leap over a barbed wire fence, but when climbing back over, I slipped and fell into the barbed wire and cut up my leg pretty bad... I became the scouting firstaid meritbadge project! It was both embarrassing and helped me achieve eagle scout. :)

tee-hee-hee... good one, Coco... it's one of those most embarrassing moments stories... though at the time it wasn't all that embarrassing, only painful... now of course it's sorta embarrassing to admit... cuz I like to act all manly... Ahem... :)

So now I think it's time Roper and I and Cat and Jase all do a musical number together...

I actually own tights.  Black wool ones that I use for cycling in the winter.  Sister Roper thinks my quads and glutes look really good in them biggrin

Oh man... the B52s definitely belong here... I confess what I've heard of their music always makes me smile. Of course they've been around FOREVER... and they write songs that really make no sense... and are purposefully obnoxious... like this one... but hey, it's got cowbell!!!

The internet is such an amazing place... I was reading a blog written by an old HS friend... (something totally unrelated...) and follwed a link to another schoolmate...  This went on for at least 7 site changes... when what do you suppose I found??? Nothing less that this video with Beefie doing a mean back-up number for Kermit and Ray (Ray is costumed in "tans/browns"...)
