Once again, another repeat felon illegal imigrant. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,292717,00.html It seems like every month we have a story like this. Can someone please explain to me why this man was even in this country or allowed to run around being here illegally and with his rap sheet? How many more must suffer because the government is failing to live up to it's job under the U.S. Constitution. The U.S. should be ashamed. Those college kids should still be alive.

What really drives me nuts is that the immigration authorities knew he was here illegally after the previous felonys. Those folks should be fired on the spot and serve time in jail for endangering the public. And this one can't be framed as folks being anti-Mexican because he isn't even Mexican. The government is failing to protect it's citizens and there is no excuse for it. They were fully aware of his status. They had him in custody. Yet we kow tow around this issue because we have to be compassionate and no one wants to come off looking racist. People are dead and victimized for no reason other than the government failing to do what is already in the law.
You'll be happy then to hear the Bush Administrations Immigration Enforcement agenda that's been announced this week, which it has been forced to enact since Congress refuses to create meaningful immigration reform. More fences, more border agents hired, more enforcement, more going after companies that hire large numbers of illegals, tightening of what can and cannot be acceptable to prove citizenship... it's a rather major shift in enforcement priorities on the part of the President that you love to pitch and moan about...

Three dead college students and a raped 5 year old girl because the law wasn't being enforced. Yea, you bet I'm pitching and moaning. In my opinion the parents should sue the government and collect millions for neglegent homicide, public endangerment, and failure to enforce the law.
Oh, and how would anything that congress even considered passing actually have forced them to keep this human piece of filth in jail or out of the country?
Interesting that out of the hundreds of murders and thousands of rapes carried out today by the "human pieces of filth" that just happened to be born here, this one gets all the attention.

Roper, illegal immigrants commit crimes wildly disproportionate with their percentage of the population. For instance, in Los Angeles over 90% of the warrants issued for arrest in murder cases are issued for the arrest of illegal immigrants. You can disagree with the conclusions we draw from the facts, but please don't ignore them. This page has some facts that you may find interesting:
In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.

This doesn't say 95% of all homocide warrants. 95% of outstanding warrants. Maybe the cops are just having a much easier time of bringing citizen-perps to prosecutions because they can find them.
Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.
Of course they are, because we classify them as fugitives by their mere presence here illegally.
I won't deny that some immigrants come here with the intent of committing violent crimes. My point was that these types of stories that specifically mention a person's legal residence do so for expressly political purposes. That's not journalism. It's campaigning.

Could I ask everyone to breathe deeply and count to ten before coming to blows here??? This is one of those issues that can easily turn ugly, because emotions and lifelong belief patterns are involved...
I believe we all need to stay very calm while posting... Also please allow that the other person has the right to feel just as strongly as you do about these issues, even IF they don't agree with your reasoning.
Well it turns out that not only was the illegal in question out on bail for the felony rape when he allegedly committed the murder but the police are indicating he was also a member of the notorious MS 13 gang and had been terrorizing people in an apartment complex. How can we gloss over the fact that these crimes would not have happened had the law been enforced. Just last month in my own county an illegal immigrant with a criminal record shot and killed his legal resident girlfriend, then took some shots at the cops trying to hunt him down. They were forced to return fire and he is now dead. I cannot fathom how we can just turn our backs on people who are dieing because we have a broken system that allows violent people who are not in this country legally to just walk around. I am not saying that all illegal immigrants are doing this but each and every one of these deaths was 100%preventable. When it happens to your family or in your community maybe you will see it differently. This piece of filth is not entirely culpable. I blame the government who allowed him to be here, who let him out on bail, and who continue to allow this to happen. I have the same low opinion of judges that give child rapists rediculously low sentences or let them out of prison early only to see them victimize someone else.
Jase, no one wants to turn their back on anything. What the fellow did is wrong, but our discussion started when you stated,
"Oh, and how would anything that congress even considered passing actually have forced them to keep this human piece of filth in jail or out of the country?"
What you're claiming is that we have to enforce immigration, but that Congress can do nothing to make the situation better. Hence I asked the question, "Why mention his status as an illegal at all, if there's nothing that can be done?"
If you believe there are things that can be done, then we should discuss the things that should be done and how... and involve congress and the administration and law enforcement in the process.
I don't like evil gangs who commit murder and terror. I don't like the idea of criminals running free anymore than you do. And try as you might, you cannot equate my position on immigration with what happened in this case, as wrong-minded as you may think it is...

Enforce the law and use common sense. This isn't rocket science. If we enforce the laws then this will not happen. If we use common sense and not let illegal immigrant, child rapists out on bond, then this stops.
