They're not really offended. They're looking for either a big settlement from the legal system ie. lottery via lawsuit or they have the more sinister goal of eliminating religion.
There are people who base their entire political philosophy off of being offended. Witness Ward Churchill.

"Moody said the beauty behind the freedom of the law is children get to do with the moment what they wish. There are no guidelines behind the silence."
Can I use my silence for talking?
No? Then this Moody guy is not being totally honest.
I don't like any form of state enforced thought police.
Organist, using a moment designated as silence for talking is kind of like stating that the designated time for lights out at Scout camp only implies that it is time for boys to keep the noise level to a low din.
Silence and talking aloud are not compatible, so to say "this Moody guy is not being totally honest" is a straw man holding a red herring.
Holding a moment of silence as part of the daily routine is not state enforced thought police UNLESS they are telling you what you can or can not think of during that moment of silence.
