New Addition is Here!

I've been away the past few days picking up my new son from the Hospital.  He and momma are doing well and in good shape.  He's my biggest one so far at 9lbs 14oz. and 22 inches.  As an added benefit, I am now able to easilly fall asleep at work!

Congratulations! Babies take priority over Bountiful, so we understand if you post less.

I thought Ray's was.

And I still think the name "Bing" would have been cool.

btw, Jason, what's his name?  Or are you gonna surprise everyone at the blessing with something inspired like Habakkuk or Mahalaleel?

Destruction is imminent.  Yeah, we shoulda named our first boy that.  Once he started gymnastics, each piece of furniture became an apparatus.  It didn't hold up as well as the stuff they had at the gym.

Congratulations!

My last baby, when the nurse broke my water, she said, "Wow! Whatcha' gonna' name him, Noah?" Stupid nurse humor. disbelief.gif

Oh that is right... Ray and Mrs. Ray were earlier... what about Euphie, or was that still the place across the river?

Well, in any event, Jasonson is the first that is not in some way shared with across the river... wink.gif

If we're talking names, how about Obipa-noki-bral... I think that is like Andorian for "Peace through superior fire power." (Was acquainted with a guy when at BYU who taught ESL at BYU and had a masters in linguistics and developed an Andorian language... he was a major trekkie / trekker)

Stupid nurse humor... how about just plain old annoying sounding stupid nurses? When my wife was pregnant with beserker warrior #1, he was laying on her uretor to the point it was blocking urine flow. She had to be in the hospital while they were figuring out what was causing her so much pain (ended up being two hospitals since the urologist worked out of one and the OB out of another... go figure), anyway there is this one nurse who spoke so condescendingly to both of us and with a tone of voice like we were maybe 10 years old or younger... at most, she was maybe 8 years older than us (we were in our mid twenties... we both look a lot younger than we are)... we were ready to smack her one...

Yea, I'm pretty tired right now. His middle name is Helaman. He is number 4. I like to give my boys BOM middle names that sound tough. The kid just needs a sword and a loin cloth and he's ready to terrorize his sisters. My other son's middle name is Moroni.

Here is how you can save on the expense of a sword and loincloth... have your daughters change his diaper... guaranteed to terrorize them when he ends up doing what little boys do as soon as the diaper comes off... wink.gif

Just a quick check in. I ended up taking the wife to the emergency room yesterday and they admitted her. Her blood pressure is way too high and they can't figure out why. She never had high blood pressure before, during, or after any of the pregnancies. Please keep us in your prayers.

Thanks.

Just a quick update. She spent Wednesday and almost all thursday in the Hospital. Her blood pressure for some reason is really high. She has no history of high blood pressure before, during, or after the pregnancy so the doctor is scratching his head. They put her on some blood pressure meds that still allowed her to feed the baby and let me take them both home on Thursday. They had been checking her blood pressure every couple hours and the meds seemed to be working as her blood pressure dropped down to lower levels. The meds they put her on made her a zombie though. She did nothing but sleep and had a hard time staying awake even to feed the baby. She had not appetite. We had the 1 week check up for the baby the next day and after that just walked into her doctors office. They checked her out and put her on another prescription. Her blood pressure was up again but not as high as it had been in the hospital so fortunately we didn't have to go back there again. She is able to focus and only sleep a normal amount of time. The doc said he made sure the drug he prescribed won't hurt the baby but it still makes us nervous. Our other kids have been farmed out to various relatives so my wife can get as much rest as possible and avoid stress. It makes her very sad though that she isn't able to take care of her family. My wife's a typical type A personality so it is very difficult for her to slow down at all. She says she feels like a bad mom for having the other kids at the relatives houses. Like a mother hen she just wants all her chicks gathered together. It has also been hard for both of us to accept meals and such from ward members. Usually my wife is the first one to do that for someone else. She isn't used to being on the recieving end and it makes here feel a little bad. Hopefully Monday's doctor appointment will go well for her and she won't have to take these meds for long. A friend of my is a family practice doc and he thinks her body just may be trying to adjust after the pregancy and that this is all just a short term problem. He is always an optimist but it made my wife feel a little better. On the plus side the pediatrician says the baby is healthy so that is one good piece of news. This has definitely been a challenge for the family but we have been greatly blessed with an upwelling of support from both our families and the ward.

No Ray, we chose Helaman. Let me tell you that when they announced the new baby's arrival in Priesthood meeting sunday (they forgot to do it in Sacrament) it sounded super cool.

Well, the doc appointment yesterday went ok. The wife's blood pressure is still too high but not as high as when they hospitalized her. So they're going to check it next week and see where we go from there. Baby's doing fine. Thanks for all your support. One good thing did come out of the whole re-hospitalization. I got more meals from the ward!! Woohooo!!!

We could call him Tubbs for short and the other son Crocket!

I don't get the Tubbs and Crocket reference... and I know when it is told to me, I'll feel really, really dumb... doh.gif

That's what I thought... I never watched Miami Vice, so wasn't familiar with the Tubbs character... I new Crocket was the character played by Don Johnson, so had it been Bubba and Crocket (Bubba being Johnson's Nash character's from "Nash Bridges" catch-all name for folks), I probably would have gotten it. doh.gif

I always liked the Lt. Castillo character the best.  I think Edward James Olmos, who also played Jaime Escalante in Stand and Deliver (one of my favorite movies,) is an extremely talented actor.

Olmos is a fantastic actor. I was always dissapointed he didn't do more acting. Aside from some of the sexual trash in the new Galactica, he plays a very good Admiral Adama.

Take away the soap opera part of the new BSG, and you have a pretty good representation of a people who had become as the Jaredites and Nephites at the end... sleeping on their swords, cursing God, and waiting to die...

I keep hoping that someone will start making righteous decisions on the show. They all seem so hopeless now much like the Jaredites and Nephites at the end. The final season is coming in a few months. It will be interesting to see how it ends.

BSG is the final horcrux... not Harry Potter or his scar! biggrin.gif Voldemort has been keeping them from finding Earth, not the Cylons...

And the Final Five are actually Hagred, Mrs. Norris, Neville Longbottom, Gilderoy Lockhart, and Moaning Myrtle...
