I am very happy.

I just finished my last finals yesterday, and this Friday I will graduate with a bachelors in mathematics (with an emphasis in scientific computing).

Today is also my 22nd birthday. biggrin

Well now I have to figure out what to do next. I am thinking of applying for grad school, maybe finding a job. I probably should finally get a drivers licence, and start dating more, looking for an eternal companion smile.

I pass the written test all fine, but I never have passed a driving test. All of the practice hasn't gone so well either, I took a break after backing up into another drivers ed car while practicing behind the High School cry.

I just haven't really needed a licence, I get around fine. hmmsmile

I like my avatar too. biggrin

Congratulations! What would it be like to be that good at Math?

I dont' know how to drive either. I do not think I was wired that way. Nothing wrong with that.

Congratulations! That is great. Good luck with your future.

Speaking of your avatar (which I like also), what are the red x and o in the lower right corner? Are those grade marks (indicating 0 points)?

Let's hope you did better on your finals (and on your forthcoming driving test) than the smart alec who answered the question as shown in your avatar! biggrin.gif

Oh, did you know that if you hold off until you're like 25 to start driving, you're insurance rates will be a lot lower? wink.gif

I am pretty sure its a mark saying zero points, thats how I interpreted it.

Well, I am going to relax, try to catch up on some news like the Republican presidential debate, download the latest archived Michael Medved show, and so on. Tomorrow I will work on some of my personal projects (Game designs and such). Then I will go to church on sunday...

In the longer term, I am going to check up on if I should retake the GRE Mathematics subject test, then I will get some recommendations from professors, and apply for grad school.

I really liked President Monson's speech.

He talked about how when he went to the U of U, there weren't any calculators, I-pods, video games, personal computers, that cars were scarce. That we are living in a miraculous time.

Then he talked about glancing back (into the past), reaching out (in the present), and pushing forward (into the future), as well as speaking alot about graditute and service.

oh! Congrats! I've still got 2 more years until I graduate...if I can make it! I'll probably be getting a math minor as I only need to take one additional class along with my ME classes to get it.

Have you guys seen the other funny answers on math tests? I'll have to post them if you haven't. Pi's avatar shows a problem on which the Pythagorean theorem should be used, but the teacher wasn't very specific and the only instruction was to "Find x" so that's what the student did, but the teacher couldn't give him any credit for it, thus the mark and the 0.

Enjoy this time of your life.

Graduated at 22? Wow!

New convert to the Church? No mission?

My birthday was yesterday and I'm much more than twice your age. The past 20 years have passed as it were a dream and I'm starting to get grey and wrinkled and too BIG.

I'd work on getting a drivers license. (Eventually you'll want to date and your wife will most likely want you to be able to drive)

If you haven't served a mission perhaps you could do that now also.

I'll be setting apart a young man who will soon turn 26.... he's going to the Utah Salt Lake City South mission and is very enthused!

My brother went on that mission! He absolutely loved it! However, if the kid learns how to firestick, make sure he knows how to properly prepare the sticks before trying to show off to the YSA group when he gets back...

Congratulations! That is awesome. I just got back from my sister's graduation (she got a master's in special education). The guy that introduced the student speaker was quite interesting, he spoke a bit about having finished one chapter in life and going onto write the next chapter of life.

Their main speaker was someone that used to be in charge of the Peace Corp, so lots of talk about service and doing what you can to make the world better, not just being a spectator but an active participant. These talks were good and inspiring, so much better than last year's rather political talk by a senator who just talked about what good things he'd done in the Senate.

They had great talks but I wish I could have heard Pres Monson! I'm jealous!
If your school gives you a copy of his remarks, I'd love if you could post them!

Well, you see I had already served a full-time mission, I was in Iowa for 5 months, before I came home because of problems with my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (A couple emotional/mental breakdowns, a lot of fasting and praying to find out what to do). My mission president discussed the parable of the laborers with me. My mission was a great experience, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. smile

I decided not to waste any time once I was back, and went to summer semester, I then went to school every semester afterwards except for last semester. The 40 hours of AP credit I had gotten in high school helped out a bunch too.

Congrats with your mission in Iowa.

And double congrats that you could be graduating so very young!

What do they have you doing in your ward at the "U".

As a Utah Man/graduate myself...I'm doubly proud of you!

I'm a ward missionary in my student ward! I love it because I always wanted to go on a mission, but since I can't until I'm 21, and as I'm now getting married shortly afterward, by the time the beginning of July comes around, I will have been a ward missionary for 18 months. It's far more fun when there are Sisters, but Elders are awesome as well. I just can't share the same bond.
