New posting screen format

Hey, me likes the new post screen. Heh. I guess this is old news to all you regular pontificators...

Arb - is this your doing?

I don't like it.  I seem to have less control over how my post actually ends up looking when I press submit.
I had to press return twice to get this seperation of lines.

I don't like it either. I think that they "upgraded" the board so that all browser/os combinations work that way now. Earlier it was only a few combinations. I don't like the new link functionality, for instance, where you first highlight the word that you want to turn in to a link, then click on the button.

But, if it pleases you Bok, then I'm happy. I actually have very little control, other than things like adding topic icons.

And adding personal titles.

When I reach 500 posts, can I get the title of "Assistant Sunday School Bell Ringer" or maybe "Ray's Overlooked Protege?" (Then I could start the official ROPer Academy and hang recruiting posters at the Fortress.)

The new format works better for me. I like the new little icons too...

And I think I should be Roper's protege...

Now, as a result of the changes they made, the nice friendly people at Activeboard are inundating us with secret combinations...

Hey, how did Arbilad get to be Comrade Secretary and Ray and I are still Profuse Pontificators?  And in true conspiracy theory mindset, I think that everytime Roper and Bok make posts, the count goes down...  The blue marble isn't really a marble at all, but a all-seeing mini camera

Nah... everytime I make a post, my count jumps by five.  (It subtracts four from yours Cat, since you have such an abundance.)

I'm Comrade Secretary because I can set my own title. You, as mere mortals, have to attain a certain post count. Which reminds me, as things are now set up there is yet another title out there waiting for you once you make a certain post count. I set it up when I first set the board up, so I don't know whether you'll like it or not. I can also set up additional ones. I'm open to suggestions.

And Bok, I like it when people like the board. I'm gratified at it's success, and I hope it has more. Therefore, when board members are happy, that makes me happy.

And we're happy that you're happy that we're happy that you're happy that Bok is happy!

Hmmm... guesses as to what the new title will be and at what post it will occur.

Me first.  Ultimate Stuffed Shirt, and Post 1000

Well, since everbody's happy, put your money where your mouth is, and let's keep the forum ad-free for the next decade or so.

And Roper can talk, since he has contributed. I've put my own money into it too. And it's not as if Roper's followed a career of wealth and fame; he was military and now he's a teacher.

I thought there was some mention about moving the forum away from Activeboard altogether... That can put a damper on folks wanting to donate some bucks if they think it is just going to poof vanish when Activeboard hosting is cancelled.

Of course, there may be those who miss the ads for an eating establishment of the name by the sound made by a nocturnal predatory bird or the dating services or the other assorted value added products and services...

And dagnabit, but it seems to be that depending on the time of day or maybe the thread, or maybe a combination of both, the post new comment / topic screen changes.  I had no ability to do any formatting on any post I've made today up until now.

It's like what, $15?  Even if the forum moved tomorrow and my donation went poof, the enjoyment i've had up to now is worth that.

Hey, I have a question. Is there any way to link directly to the last post in a thread? I tire of having to scroll down every time a new post is made.
