America's Toxic Culture

Sure America is a victim of terrorism, and we do business better than anyone else, by comparison, but there's something that really bothers a lot of people that we import all over the world... It's our entertainment, our culture, our movies, our music, our porn. Do you think this is a good thing? How can we who disagree with the culture of Hollywood seperate ourselves from the world's impression that that's all America is? Sure we love free speech, but when it produces such nasty abominations, it's really a tough sale for countries that live in puritanical non-sophistication.  How can we as a nation hope that the world will accept the joys of freedom when all they see is our children turning into whoremongers and devils that glory in the depravity of human nature unrestrained?

 What can be done?

Keep pushing free speech. Sure, Satan uses it to do his work. But it's also essential for God's work and glory.  And though there will be casualties along the way, in the end, God will win.

I think every culture has its drawbacks. My wife, for instance, is glad that I'm not muslim. Sure, our society on the whole has excesses of debauchery, lewdness, disrespect for the elderly, etc. But we have a whole lot of valuable things as well. The US is very charitable, contributing massive amounts to the needy (on the part of the people; the government is another story) each year. We're very inventive. Those of us who aren't into debauchery are typically very religious.

And, as has been pointed out, the Lord wins in the end.

I say we export Teddy Kennedy, Barney Frank, Billary Clinton (with it's evil side-kick Algore), Long Face John Kerry, Michael Moore, Madonna, Britney Spears, Kristine Aguilara, Jennifer Lopez, Kid Rock, Ru Paul, and maybe for good measure anyone in Hollywood, San Francisco, LA, New York, and Massachussetts (would have included New Orleans, but they already got destroyed by Katrina) who don't repent and leave after being told to by the angels who go to warn the local Lots to some of the countries that despise us because of the evils that our culture also exports, tell them that these are the people responsible for it and that they can do with them as they please, but no give backs...

So you want to get rid of all these things, but exactly how do you do it?

I agree many of these things are despicable horrible things, but they are OUR despicable horrible things, and are perfectly legal exploitations of a system of freedoms. They're the problem with the system...

They're our problem. How did they become a problem? Why are they a problem?
