Finally, a Republican presidential candidate I can get behind

Rep. Ron Paul is announcing that he is forming an exploratory committe. This is the first step towards starting a presidential campaign. I have been impressed with Ron Paul for a long while. I think that he'd make an excellent president.
I think that soon I'll be making my first political donation of the campaign season.

I think the Republican Party will make every effort to sabotage Ron Paul's campaign. There is no love lost between Paul and other Republicans in Congress.  He caught my attention over 10 years ago, and my regular contributions to his campaigns have kept me on his mailing list. His principles are those I would expect from a Constitution Party candidate.   Paul is way too supportive of freedom and constitutional principles for the liking of nearly all others in Congress.  In the last primaries the Republican Party ran a woman candidate against him with ties to the Sanatra family and a strong legal background. Big $s were thrown by the party into his opponent's campaign. Ron Paul is the only congressman since Larry McDonald to totally support the principles written in the Declaration of Independence and codified in the US Constitution. I would like to think that he will be supported by the Constitution Party, the Libertarian Party and the Independent American Party. The Chairman of the Arizona Constitution Party has suggested that when the Republican special interest servants rebuff Paul, which I think they will, it will bring more people to the Constitution Party because the true agenda of the Republican Party will become more apparent to more people. He also feels that Ron Paul will join the CP when his candidacy is sabotaged by the Republicans.  This should be an interesting campaign.

The day after I stop caring whether Israel, Australia, UK, Mexico, and Canada are taken over by militant Jihadists, the day after I stop caring whether Taiwan and South Korea are absorbed into Red China, the day after I stop caring about the reappearance of the Soviet Union, and its absorption of Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, the day after I stop caring whether people who need medical help get it, I'm right with you guys.  Because I honestly think the guy has a lot going for him.  I wish the world worked well enough that I could get behind him too.

Ron Paul, I didn't even know he was a republican or even a man.

Actually, Randy, those are some of the very reasons why I want to vote for Ron Paul. I'm a firm believer in the assertion that, when you get the basic principles right, the other problems are much easier to solve. For instance, it would be nearly impossible in the current political environment to outlaw abortion. But if we were to become a moral nation again, it would be fairly easy.
As Joseph Smith said, teach them correct principles and let them govern themselves. I think that if people don't use correct principles, nothing is going to solve all the problems.
