I feel that the timing is terrible.  What a way to show the Dems that he (Bush) is going to roll over for them. 


OTOH, the American people expressed their desire for some change.  I hope that booting Rumsfeld is the right change.  I am very worried that the Left and the Media will get their way, and Iraq will be another Vietnam--another war that we could win on the battlefield if we didn't give up at home.

Rumsfeld had already said that he would resign if he felt he couldn't be effective anymore. I guess thats how he feels right now.

Bush may have to be more handy with vetoes (at least, I hope he will be).

I was actually surprised Rumsfeld hung in there this long.  Usually the turnover is higher for that position even in times of peace.  The demanding schedule can take a toll.
