America: Freedom to Fascism

Aaron Russo, director of such major Hollywood films as "Trading Places" (which I'm sure none of us have seen, since it is rated R ), has come out with a new film, America: Freedom to Fascism. It sounds interesting. Unfortunately I didn't see it when it was showing in Denver. But now it's on DVD. I'm thinking of buying the DVD. Would anyone be interested in borrowing it after I've bought it and watched it?

No thanks.  If I want to read reactionary, orwellian fiction, I'm sure there are plenty of books about alternate future / history out there like Harry Turtledove's.

I doubt the director of the film really understands what true fascism is... he sounds like a  hollywood bourgieous (sic?) type to begin with...

I don't recall the US government coercing business at quite the same level as fascism does.  Nor do I recall the US government coercing unions the same way.  Those are "socialist" steps.  But then some forget that nationalist socialism, ie fascism, pretty much is the same form of government that communism and socialism has.  The difference is only in the window dressing.

Unless it is a film about FDR's economic stimulus package and the WWII quota system of US production, it is probably woefully inaccurate.
