John Kerry to run a second time?

John Kerry thinking about running a second time.

Personally I think it'd be idiotic of him to do so. Kerry is a man with more baggage than passes through the Dallas/Fort Worth airport in one day.

Oh please, no.

By the way, I found out via mailer that I'm being oppressed. Apparently there's a war on women. The mailer was so nice as to list all my local candidates in on this thing. It was very nice--saves me the time of looking all their records up so I can vote for them.

Well, if he gets Al Gore to be his running mate, then their combined baggage will even exceed the amount of baggage the sisters in my MTC flight group had!

Honestly, I don't know if I could handle all the humor another Kerry run would create for Glenn Beck...

It will be interesting to see.  Billy Kristol over the weekend brought out a salient point.  In a debate with the other dems, he would state clearly that he is the only one who was against the war in Iraq, and they all voted for it.  Kerry and Gore (running separately in the party) may carry their parties since they will have the strength of the fringe groups, but it will alienate the candidates in a race for president.  Its one reason Hilary Clinton has attempted a "moderate" stance, in preparation for the race.

Big deal.  The democrats don't like losers, and don't like to recycle candidates.  Gore and Kerry might be in the first few primaries, but they will be blown away by the Hillary tsunami.

Actually they do recycle candidates.  As I recall Mondale was recycled.

And here I thought it was he was simply for recycling!  Wow!  They really could have gotten the environmentalist vote back then had they made it known he was actually made of recycled items... "Our candidate not only talks green... he really is green!  Rather than letting go to waste the bits and pieces of previous Democratic Presidents, we've recycled them and created a new candidate we like to call Walter Mondale for short!"

edit to add: Not to mention he could have also gotten that ever so important block of zombie swing votes...

If he does, maybe he'll sign a form 180 and release his ENTIRE service record, right, I don't think I'll hold my breath.

If he could get his wife to shut up he might win a few more electoral votes.  She said something stupid every week of the campaign.

I really believe there are better Democrats out there though I can't name names.  Where are they and why aren't they running?  Are they not favored by the current Democrat leadership?

I want a strong candidate from the Democratic side with real ideas that are clearly articulated.  This way the Republican candidate can't just take my vote lightly and will have to work for it.

What, you saw the final Michigan gubenatorial debate on TV last night?  Tja!  The Democratic incumbent was talking lots and saying nothing, but boy did she have the Clinton-esque hand motions down.  I just about wanted to reach through the TV and slap her one and tie her hands down.  Unfortunately, the Republican challenger didn't have anything of substance to say either other than to continue to harp on what we already know... that 4 years under this governor has been nothing but the unfulfillment of campaign promises and that we as a state economically have regressed significantly under her watch and that all she is saying is more of the same pie-in-the-sky campaign promises...

I don't know.  I don't want the incumbent in for another 4 years, but then do I really want the former CEO of Amway as our governor?

Imagine the sales ploys that organization will now use to get people to join... 'Endorsed by the State of Michigan', 'If you don't join, then you are hurting Michigan's economy', "You don't really make money selling products, you get the people below you to sell... just like the way the State of Michigan operates... they don't really pass policy or provide value added services, they encourage local home owners associations to do that...'
