Colorado school hostage situation

I would have been physically sick if my kid had been in that school. I feel for the parents involved.
Unfortunately, this is going to lead for more calls for gun control. It doesn't seem to matter that these types always seem to break the gun control laws anyway.

This was a really sad situation.  Basically this guy was a sexual predator that chose to do his evil on a school campus.  What makes me mad is that the guy offed himself so he won't face earthly justice.  That and the calls for further gun control.  Gun control laws are about as effective at preventing crime as banning novelty undies would be for preventing street walkers.

It's another disturbing situation.


It struck me as very sad to sit down with my teenagers to discuss whether or not they knew their school's procedures in such a situation. My daughter said, "Mom, anybody could walk in our school and nobody would notice them." Great.


And then, we talked about what they, individually, have thought about how they would handle themselves in that kind of situation.


I guess it's a sign of the times that as a parent I have to have those kinds of talks.

This sort of person is the scum of the earth. Can you imagine what he will feel when he kneels before a righteous God and has a full understanding of his sins hit him? Like it says in the scriptures, he'll wish a mountain would cover him up, or that he could cease to exist.
I feel so sorry for the students and parents involved, but most especially for those girls. This is something that they will have to deal with their whole lives. They were traumatized in a way that none of us here probably understand.
I imagine that if the guy hadn't offed himself there would be plenty of people right now contemplating vigilante justice.

Not to take away from what you're saying there, but I think all of us would feel that way if we end up meeting our maker in an unrepentant state, regardless of the severity of our sins and transgressions.


This is truely sad.  A bright spot, if it could be considered one, is that there were so few (relative to other horrific incidents of violence against school students and teachers) direct victims of this sick man's actions.
