There are some things I have discovered which certain scriptures and certain statements by prophets and apostles have reinforced with great significance to me, but which I dont really like to talk about except in very private settings.   One of these things was discussed recently on at least 2 different occasions that I know of by President Packer.   I first came across it over 2 years ago in a published talk that he gave at BYU in January 2007.   Then I found it again, word for word I believe, in the August 2010 Ensign magazine.   So I assume it is important.   In reading it carefully  I note 2 separate things that we are commanded to do.   They are not just good ideas; ...they are commandments.    I refer to the full paragraph at the bottom right side of Page 23 of the August Ensign.   It begins, "We live in a time of war, that spiritual war that will never end...."   What do we need to do to comply with these 2 commandmants ?
