It was to be expected, I guess. McCain won the republican primary here in Arizona by a large margin. In fact I was surprised that he won by so much. I'm sure the endorsements and support of Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney helped considerably.
The voters of Arizona could have done the American people--and liberty itself--a great favor this year by giving Senator John McCain his walking papers. Big-Government globalists like McCain are an albatross around the neck of freedom and constitutional government. But instead of sending him packing, they gave him another 6 years to help destroy America and get us into the new world order. My own contempt for McCain began with his obstruction years ago of congressional investigations into missing POWs, a.k.a. MIAs. He has been a very successful deceiver. Even one of Arizona's sheriffs, Paul Babeu, endorsed him.
I note some AZ voters who normally fancy themselves conservative and/or republican are looking more closely at 3rd party and independent candidates. And others are talking about voting in November for the democrat candidate just to get shod of McCain.
I agree 100% with what you have written. While not a big JD Hayworth fan, I still voted for him. I also could not believe that he won by such a huge margin. I suppose when you have a treasure chest left over from a presidential election, you can outspend 200 to 1.
I'll be voting third party or not at all for the senate race

That's a tragedy. It also makes me think much less of Sarah Palin that she endorsed him. Especially after McCain's flunkies attacked her wholesale after the campaign, I would have thought that she was free of any moral obligation to endorse him. I don't have much of a choice in the Colorado senate race. Ken Buck badmouthed the tea partiers who helped get him the nomination. And I'm really not sure who to vote for governor. It's very possible that I will vote for the Republican candidate for governor over the Constitution party candidate.

Arbi, what do you make of this Washington Times story? I am really surprised that the Constitution Party accepted Tom Tancredo to run as a CP candidate. Other than being strongly opposed to illegal immigration and amnesty, his voting record in the "House" is not what I would call Constitution friendly. BTW, he once spoke critically to AZ State Senator Pearce of the Mormon members of Congress for their general support of amnesty and illegal immigration.
Lundie, I've read that information in other places, and I'm not sure what to make of it. Dan Maes could be a good man attacked unfairly by the lamestream media, or he could be a wolf in conservative's clothing. It's hard to tell, and that's part of my problem. Of course, Tancredo voted for CAFTA, and that's a horrible, horrible thing.

Lundie, I'd be interested in what specifically Tancredo voted for that was bad. The American Constitution party, before they let him sign up, had Tancredo promise to support every line of their platform. That's a good start, but I want to see what his actions are. I incorrectly remembered that he voted for CAFTA. I looked it up and he was actually one of those who voted against. I like what Maes says, but the problem is that you can't go just off what a candidate says. You have to look at their life previous to that and see what they've actually done. I mean, look at O'Donnell, who talked the talk, but seems to have some nasty stuff in her past.

I don't know if I'll be able to retrieve the past reports on the voting records of members of the House and Senate any time soon. The congressional voting records are given 2X/year in The New American magazine, and I give away every issue after I've read it. Since reading Arbi's above comment, I have asked a few other JBS members and others of similar persuasions and have been told, in effect, that while in the House Tancredo changed and became more Constitution friendly. That may be true, because I haven't looked at his record for a few years now. But I do remember his support of the Patriot Act, which he reportedly admitted was a mistake on his part, and also, going back some years, hi ssupport of welfare and foreign aid, which will give any constitutionalist ulcers.
