Cash for Clunkers program

This is from a friend on Facebook:

Car dealer friend says Cash for Clunkers program requires 25 different docs to be submitted to gov't for EACH car; takes 2-3 hours each.

They're going to pump more money into Cash for Clunkers. Still, though, there's the problem of dealers getting compensated through the program. And that's a problem for consumers as well, because if the deal falls through for any reason (for instance, the dealer doesn't get their money from the government), then you, the purchaser, either have to come up with the money or you have to return the car and pay the dealer daily rental costs, mileage, etc.

This will end just like the housing crisis.

Most folks who drive clunkers do so because it's the only thing they can afford.

So now we get them a new car....

... that means higher taxes every year to renew the license.
... that means higher car insurance.

When they can't afford it, all these cars get repossed... just like home foreclosures.

What is wrong with those now in control?  I think they must have something wrong with their brains.  They are just like little kids who have no self control.  My kid in the store says, "Mommy, buy me this"... Mommy says... "We can't afford it" to which the kid says, Just use your 'card'.  Some leaders think we just have a no limit credit card in Washington.

And add to that the fact that we're bailing out millions of folks who can't pay their credit card debt... if you watch TV or listen to radio, you've seen or heard the adds.

We take over the car companies cuz no one is buying their cars, then we give people cars that they won't be able to make the payments on...  it's just like the housing crisis all over again, right in front of our eyes.

I've read a few times already the allegation that among other things, this cash for clunkers is a scheme to get acces to our computer.  It' doesn't make sense to me, at least not yet, that the FedGev will get access to very many computers thru this program.  I'm no computer whiz; far from it.  But it seems if the FedGov wanted to addess our computers it could be done in other ways that would access all of our computers, and not just those used by a relatively few who would likely be of little interest to the persons interested in spying on Americans.

Why would certain elements in our FedGov want to snoop into our computers?  I have read numerous reports on the internet that certain persons within our FedGov would like to put a stop to internet correspondence, especially those emails, blogs, and forum posts that discuss, for example, the global warming hoax, evidences of 911 cover-ups, the Obama healthcare plan, and so on.  Might gaining access to a few PCs emable the shut-down of private correspondence on the internet?

Today I got an e-mail from The White House (David Axelrod) asking me to support the President's healthcare reform.

I've never seen so much misinformation in one e-mail in my life.

And how in HADES did they get my e-mail addy.

I'm at the point of praying for the Lord to return early every hour I live now.

I probably get 30+ emails a day from organizations and individuals I never asked to hear from, including political organizations and individuals soliciting money and support for their particular promotions, businesses like JC Penny, Kohls, Costco, Sears, etc.,   I think some organizations pay big bucks for email addresses.

Misinformation I can sometimes forgive.  Disinformation is probably a more accurate description of what we are getting on the healthcare issue and on other things going on in government.

And I can understand one praying for the Lord to return early.  Just not too soon, please.  Some of us and our family members might not be quite ready.

Not quite ready?

Some time ago for two reasons, I gave up on the idea of wanting everyone being ready before major changes preceding the Lord's coming.

One - everyone's not ever going to be ready to face this comfortably. For one thing, not everyone is listening to the Spirit and the background noise of evil is getting louder. For another there are some who simply can't -- life is already too challenging for them and preparation is beyond their ability, for example: an aged infirm sister who will have to rely on previous prep efforts because she can't do or buy anything more now.

Two - from what I'm seeing I believe the Misery Index is reaching hard to tolerate levels. The increasing evil and the economic problems make life more difficult for everyone.

My opinion is that it's kinder to stop the downward rush of society now because some are being crushed in the avalanche and some are beginning to flow with it and will have farther to climb back up later.
