The G8 nations have decided to give $20 billion to farmers in Africa to help them grow food. Meanwhile, farmers local to where I live can't get loans to plant crops. And they with the rest of us will be taxed to help provide that $20 billion. There's something wrong with this picture. I have nothing against helping others out when you have money to do it with. But it's wrong to go into debt to do it.

Reminds me of a statement by President J. Ruben Clark, speaking in the October 1949 General Conference: "Do not think that all these usurpations, intimidations, and impositions are being done to us through inadvertancy or mistake, the whole course is deliberately planned and carried out; its purpose is to destroy the Constitution and our Constitutional government."
