"The LDS Church is walking a fine line when the mother of our very special president has been posthumously baptized and endowed in a Utah temple," she said. "It sends out the message that the religion she chose while she was alive was not good enough. And that spills onto her son, who is our president."
During our year and a half mission at the Family History Library in SLC my wife and I came across the occasional member who believes anybody and everybody is entitled to have their temple ordinances performed. And the name estraction program, which provides lots of names to the temples, can give one the impression that it is OK to submit names without permission from the appropriate relatives.
