On April 29, the Family Research Council (FRC) released a powerful video report on the devastating first 100 Days of the Obama presidency. The report dramatically exposes the negative impact of the Obama Administration on life, marriage, the justice system and other family issues.
"This video provides indisputable evidence of the current Administration's hostility to the values of faith and family," said FRC President Tony Perkins. "This President and his advisors have a very purposeful agenda, one that is seeking to take our country in a radically different direction. Mr. Obama is personally winsome, but his agenda is destructive."
The video reveals Obama's 1. Change for the unborn, 2. Change in the stem cell debate, 3. Change in our justice system, 4. Change for marriage, 5. Change in government spending, 6. The planned radical reduction or elimination of charitable deductions and 7. Change in the economy.
The report uses the President's own spoken words to emphasize how the change he is bringing about is radically different from what he has led the American people to believe he would do.
The video concludes with a repeated clip of Obama's words, "Change has come to America", which FRC says is a radical social agenda which preys on the most vulnerable members of our society."
This causes me to reflect on something Apostle Boyd K. Packer, speaking in a 16 January 2007 BYU Devotional, said about a commandment of the Lord thru Moroni recorded in Ether Chapter 8, Verses 20, 23 & 24, which I think many if not most LDSs have paid little heed to. Elder Packer seemed to deviate from the theme he was addressing, and stated "We live in a time of war, that spiritual war that will never end. Moroni warned us that the secret combinations begun by Gadianton are had among all people. . . . Wherefore, O ye Gentiles [and the term gentile in that place in the Book of Mormon refers to us in our generation], it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you. . . . Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you."Well, it seems we have generally failed to obey that commandment of the Lord. I sure hope we are all doing our best to follow the Prophets' admonitions Re. preparedness and food storage. That's probably our last chance.

"A new poll released last week indicates members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints generally approve of President Barack Obamas performance, but much less so than members of other religious groups.
"The poll, conducted by Gallup, pegs the presidents approval among Latter-day Saints at 45 percent, with 40 percent disapproving. This level of support is significantly lower than Obama receives from the polls other religious groups."

Our church is in some serious trouble if it is.... what it means is the Lord needs to start preaching his sermons via earthquake, storm, volcano... etc...
There seems to be a belief in the LDS Church that if you are an active American Latter-day Saint, you must support the Republican Party since its goals most closely represent the the aspirations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many LDSs put as much faith in the Republican Party as we should put in God and His prophets, both ancient and modern. Unfortunately, I got the imression from living 18 months in SLC that most LDS voters do not know where candidates like McCain, Romney and most of their candidates for US Congress stand, nor what they have said and done in the past in the politicl arena.
