GM preparing for bankruptcy, but thinks it won't be necessary

GM is preparing for bankruptcy, but says that it won't be necessary.
Does anyone really doubt at this point that GM is going under? Besides their bad business practices, they need to overcome the minor obstacle that noone is buying their cars.
