Colorado wants to ban plastic grocery bags

I feel like I somehow have fallen into a parallel universe based on a bad science fiction novel. The Colorado legislature is talking about banning plastic grocery bags by 2012.
I guess that I should stock up now, because I use plastic bags for cleaning litter boxes.
I've done the "bring your own bag" thing for shopping for groceries when I was on my mission in Ukraine. It sucks. I vastly prefer disposable plastic bags.
