I love the canned cheese that you can get from MRE Depot, but I discovered something recently: It just does not melt. At all. Ever. We opened a can and used it for cooking. I spread some of it on a dish that we ate most of. Someone decided to reheat the leftovers and forgot about it in the oven. It was there for a while before it was found. The other parts of the dish (macaroni noodles, etc) were burnt. The grated canned cheese was also burnt somewhat, but it had not melted at all. So, if you're looking to make a grilled cheese sandwich or something, you will be disappointed. It tastes great, but it does not melt.

This stuff was not the Kraft cheese that you get from, say, Internet Grocer. This was the Bega stuff that MRE Depot likes to sell. Very similar, but subtly different.

BTW, I heard Internet Grocer advertising on the radio yesterday during the Alex Jones show.
