Merry Christmas!

Our Christmas was kind of humble this year, but very fun and very memorable because of family and the gospel. Later we go over to my brother's for Christmas dinner.

The gifts that were exchanged in our family demonstrated love and caring among our 3 generations.

My wife, following typical Danish tradition, put about 2x as much food on the dinner tables as we could eat, both last evening, Cristmas Eve, and today, Christmas Day.  Tomorrow evening we go to visit another Danish family, and I expect we will have eaten ourselves into oblivion.

We didn't follow a Danish tradition, but we also had way more food than we could possibly eat. We froze a lot of leftovers for easy dinners down the road.

There was a lot of food, but by evening I couldn't eat anything. I have food poisoning or something, because my stomach hurt bad, amongst other symptoms. In fact, I've never felt this sick with a food related illness.
But I'd still rate this Christmas as a positive because I enjoy spending time with my family and remembering our Lord and Savior.

We woke up C-mas morning to our metal shed having been blown to smitherenes in the wind. Not as much "stuff" as last year... not as much cooking, either. Did our traditional Denny's breakfast on C-mas morning.

Not only myself, but several of the kids "couldn't think of" anything much they really wanted for C-mas this year. Guess we're beginning to be more content or something....

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.  disbelief You are joking with that, right? Please say you're joking. I worked a Christmas or two at a Village Inn. Because everyone has to work on Christmas or they fire you. And Village Inn is downright kind to their employees compared to Denny's, so who knows what the rules are there. (I worked for Denny's for a few weeks once... )

Our Christmas was nice and simple. Not too much food, just enough for a few leftovers. Not so many gifts that the kids don't know what to play with first. I wasn't stressed at all, which is really nice being as pregnant as I am.

Oh, and here's the oddest gift we got this year: http://tinyurl.com/oddest-gift-we-got It came from my MIL and wasn't labeled to anyone, so I maintain it's for Xanth to use. It did not appear to be a gag gift either.

That is truly an odd gift.

Yeah, nothing says Merry Christmas like a light up punk rock wig. If this doesn't end up as a white elephant, it will probably go into the boys' play clothes bin. Though I'm not sure I should be encouraging dressing up like that. LOL.

In my MIL's defense, she sent along some lovely handmade knitted items for not yet arrived baby girl. Beautiful.
