My stake center was broken into last night. There's been a rash of church robberies in the area, so it's probably not specifically targeted against LDS. They've been taking food and valuables. They didn't get much of value, but they did significant damage to a window (that they probably entered through) and most of the doors. Again, it probably wasn't targeted specifically against LDS, but it's still disturbing.

Our ward bldg also got hit about a year and a half ago. Just like you, it occurred right in the middle of a rash of church break-ins.
I took the opportunity to go meet the pastor a few churches up the street, and let him know what was happening. Sometimes I wish we could have a band in our chapel...
