And it was even more scary when I woke up and thought about it.
An extremist faction in Pakistan, gained power, allied themselves with the Taliban hiding in the west of their country. And with their nuclear arsenal subjugated Afghanistan, and claimed that the United States had more to fear from them then from Iran.
Later in the dream there was some news program on a TV, and at the bottom of the screen it said "End of the civilized world?".
I dreamed that we were having terrorist issues like Israel. I was attached to an EOD team as a sniper. We were not having a good go at it and losing people. We were down to one EOD tech, me and another guy and I only had two rounds left for my rifle. Then I woke up cause the new kitten in our house was licking my nose.
I've had some "out there" dreams, too... I won't go into the *most* out there ones, cuz you may take me as some kind of nutjob.
This reminds me of a dream I had a while back... I remember walking around a town or city that had apparently been deserted or appeared quite run down. There were middle-Eastern looking men here and there checking everything out... they were on foot. There were no American men alive that I could find. There were a few women and girls. I remember thinking, "I remember people that said there was no way the US could be invaded like this... too bad they're not around to see this... this would really blow their minds." I just remember trying to formulate a plan in my mind without letting fear or despair take over. I didn't really know what to do. It felt like a biological or chemical attack, because the buildings seemed intact, although deserted. Then I woke up.

What, still stuck on "the evils that men do" dreams?
A few weeks ago, I dreamt that Jupiter left it's orbit and was heading for Earth. It got as big as the moon. Then it was so huge, it spanned the sky from horizon to horizon, and you could still tell it was further away than our moon.
My family was out in our back yard looking up at it, and I remember thinking "Shouldn't something like this have some sort of planetwide impact by now? Like tectonic plates bouncing around, or our atmosphere being stolen away?" As I was thinking this, we saw our house collapse into itself. It was like someone dropped an invisible mountain on it - it turned into toothpicks and collapsed. Then I noticed all the houses in the neighborhood, all the cars, all the trees, the weeds, the blades of grass, had all done the same thing too.
I looked around at my family, and we weren't especially worried. Then it dawned on me that obviously, we had died a few minutes ago in the house. I remember thinking as I looked at them, "This really isn't all that bad at all."
It was a very comforting and peaceful dream, with definite paralells to everything we're taught about how "if we're prepared we shall not fear", and how righteous folk really, honestly, truly will be ok from an eternal perspective.

And I'd discuss the holy books with the learned men, seven hours every day. That would be the sweetest thing of all.
Dude! Excellent dream! I love the "we must already be dead" ones! And the image of Jupiter in the sky... sweet!
But no, you don't get the nutjob award just yet. You're sounding pretty mainstream to me.
I was hiking with some other women (I'm assuming back to Missouri... I mean, where else?) and there was no modern technology going on... no electricity, no transportation, no communications... your basic Armageddonesque dream. I was going from ward building to ward building, "picking" people up to come with us. This one group of about 3 women would not come. Their "leader", an older tall grey-haired woman told them not to go and that they'd wait for their ride that was coming momentarily. We went back and forth some and the scene ended with me yelling, "Who do you think your waiting for, sister?? WE ARE IT! Don't you GET THAT? There's NOTHING ELSE! There's NO ONE ELSE!" Anyhow, she wouldn't come with me and I couldn't force them to, so we moved on. I had a small backpack on and one of my kids was in my group with me - don't know which one. Again, there were no men around. They must've stayed in their above-ground homes during that little Jupiter episode.

I dreamed the other night that I was hired as Cindy McCain's personal assistant. She was kind of a jerk. She questioned my judgement because I stayed with someone for 3 years that was all wrong for me and in the end, very mean to me. I retorted, "That just shows that I stick things out and try to make them work, even when I'm dealing with a total jerk."

Fine, if that's what needs to be. Look, I'm listening to the counsel the Prophets have given us for years. I feel like that's what we need to do. The fearmongering, I don't understand.

Who's fearmongering? If we talk about scenarios does that mean we don't listen to the Prophets? Cuz I can think of several "scenarios" that have come over the pulpit since Joseph Smith... maybe some people look at that as fearmongering.
I don't see how fear and following the Prophets is compatable, anyway.
