All of the Wal-Marts across Tennessee sold out of ammunition as of yesterday.
A reliable source said that one of the purchasers commented that while Russia may have invaded Georgia , they sure as hell ain't doin' it to Tennessee .
Had my boys out yesterday for Labour day shooting. Teaching them to shoot the AR, AK, and .22s. I was bump firing my Hungarian and put a dime size hole through my .22 steel plate spinners. Dang.
They were doing pretty well.

My brother sent me that email. I'm going shooting next week (I think). I want to try out different handguns before buying one. I'm excited to shoot something. Where's coco?

I think the joke is funny, but it does illustrate a facet of the US that makes us different from most nations - we expect to be able to defend ourselves. The joke is funny because it has a touch of realism - you can imagine a bunch of southerners in Tennessee standing up to invading troops.

Some buddies of mine in the miltary once told me that Soviet plans for attack on the US involved very few ground troops. Mostly Spetsnaz for destruction of key infrastructure. The reasoning being the nightmare of guerilla warfare that would occur in this country.
Ever see the movie Red Dawn? For some reason I can't imagine Mirk taking a communist invasion lying down.

I just last week discovered that while my wife and I were on a recent mission, our sons shot up all the M-16 and AK-47 "preparedness" ammo I had. "Practice" was the reason given. Apparently I had OK'd them using "a llittle bit" for practice. Anyway, a few days ago I went to replenish, and was shocked at the prices.
