It's time to take the gloves off

I am officially a write-in candidate for the office of Congressional Representative for Arizona District 5, for the Constitution Party.

My candidacy for the U.S. Congress was born out of a deep desire to help preserve our nation for the next generation, plus my awareness of my obligation to befriend the U.S. Constitution, which we are all justified in doing.  I am an active supporter of the Constitution Party because of its efforts to restore the American Founding Fathers legacy of liberty and justice under the Constitution, which has for decades been squandered by countless officials in the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of our government who have constantly ignored their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

As a write-in candidate for the office of Congressional Representative for Arizona Congressional District 5, for the Constitution Party, I am committed to he seven principles of the Constitution Party:
1. Life: For all human beings, from conception to natural death;
2. Liberty: Freedom of conscience and actions for the self-governed individual;
3. Family: One husband and one wife with their children as divinely instituted;
4. Property: Each individual's right to own and steward personal property without government burden;
5. Constitution: and Bill of Rights interpreted according to the actual intent of the Founding Fathers;
6. States' Rights: Everything not specifically delegated by the Constitution to the federal government is reserved for the state and local jurisdictions;
7. American Sovereignty: American government committed to the protection of the borders, trade, and common defense of Americans, and not entangled in foreign alliances.

I am running for Congress because:

I am an advocate of a limited constitutional government in the tradition of Americas Founding Fathers, who I believe were inspired of God as they struggled to write both the Declaration Independence and the U.S. Constitution, and I hereby sound a call for return to true constitutional government.

I want to defend and promote those principles written in the Declaration of Independence and codified in the US Constitution without exception, and bring them to the attention of more Americans.

I want oppose the establishment of the emerging North American Union, which had already been agreed upon by President Bush, then President Fox on Mexico, and then Prime Minister Paul Martin of Canada, and is intended to create a regional government of the three nations.

I want to oppose the emerging North American Union, NAFTA superhighway, and the Security and Prosperity Partnership agreement, all of which are being promoted by the White House in concert with the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

I want to work to extricate the U.S. from the various trade agreements (e.g., CAFTA, NAFTA) which I believe will continue to permanently lower the amount of available jobs and wage structure for future generations of Americans.

I have objected to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and consider Americas entry into those wars unconstitutional as well as immoral, and I want to push Congress to accept its responsibility for declaring the wars (which it has not done since December 1941) or else remove American forces from those countries.

I have long opposed U.S. membership in the U.N., and want to strive to get the U.S. out of the U.N. and get the U.N. out of the U.S.

I want to push for a flat tax on income and elimination of certain other taxes such as the inheritance tax.

I want to strive to reign in the abuses of the IRS and abandon the fiat currency which has plunged the true worth of the dollar to new international laws.

I want to try to stop Americans tax dollars from being used to support illegal migrant health care, education, social security and unemployment insurance.

I want to resist the adoption of the Amero as our new currency because we would have to equalize our dollar with the Mexican Peso and the Canadian Dollar

I want to do my best to eliminate the Federal Reserve System and such practices as fractional reserve banking which is responsible for the theft of untold amounts of money from the American people..

I want to resist a private takeover of the internet.

I would oppose the elimination of the alternative health care industry under CODEX.

I want a return to paper ballots in order to ensure the integrity of our elections.

I want to halt further increases in social welfare, which is unconstitutional, and oppose renewal of such programs as they expire.

I want to begin to eliminate foreign aid, which is unconstitutional, especially to countries unfriendly to the U.S.

I want to push for enforcement of laws prohibiting transfer of militarily sensitive technology to avowed enemies like Russia and China, and their allies.

I want to oppose abortion on demand.

I am not begging for anybodys vote. I would only want to represent voters who truly appreciate and espouse the U.S. Constitution in the traditon of  Americas Founding Fathers, and who recognize the importance of the restoration of constitutional government to the future of the United States of America, and to the free agency that God intended us to have.

I am not asking for donations, as I think my goals can be accomplished without any more of my own money than I can afford to spend.

Congratulations! I hope you win.

Your platform is impressive.

Something I wonder about occasionally. I know that paper ballots are far safer than computer voting, which cannot be made safe. But we've all heard about "stuffing the ballot box" too.

What about open voting by name? Working on family history, I found some recorded votes from the 1850s. Men went to the courthouse steps and declared whom their vote was for, and some of the records by name exist today. That would be even harder to fake.

Historically, I know that we went to the Australian secret ballot because many feared retribution from employers or others for voting "the wrong way." Their fears were real, but it ended much accountability and the option to trace a vote and prove that it was legitimately cast.

In a better society, perhaps we could go back to open voting.

I like that platform. I'd vote for you if I were in Arizona. God willing (and the AZ Mayo Clinic willing) I will do my residency training there beginning next July. If that district covers Scottsdale, I could support you in 2010.

Okay, it's REIN in... like a horse. You have a horse with a bridle and reins and when you want to slow them down you *rein* them in. Don't feel weird, I had to educate people on the other side of the river about this, too. wink.gif

What's with the private takeover of the Internet? imslow.gif Never heard of that. Wouldn't that be like taking over... air or something?

A "private takeover of the internet" would make possible censoring and monitoring of transmissions, like what exists in China now.

Good going, Lundbaek. I wish that the constitution party had someone running against Marilyn Musgrave in my district.
Coco, you've tried to educate us about that "rein" thing before too.

Okay, like the China internet... I gotcha.

Excellent platform. If you had some sort of summer camps for kids all about government and LDS teachings with regard to the Constitution and everything, I'd totally send my kids to it. I think you should see about teaching all this good info you've spent YEARS learning to the upcoming generations. Not just books, but some deal where they can GO have a camp with activities and learning and stuff and it would be totally fun. Maybe start in Utah. biggrin.gif

Believe it or not, the John Birch Society has some sort of a summer camp program for doing very much what Cocobeam is suggesting.  And at one time it's director was LDS.  According to The New American website, "Campers will gain a perspective on nearly 250 years of American history. They will study the virtues and principles of America that were once taught in every schoolhouse and campus in the U.S.

"Camp speakers and staff focus heavily on original intent as put forth by the founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution and the ways in which todays government has strayed from it."

I'm a member of the JBS largely beacuse it promotes not just constitutional principles, but many of the other wholesome values stressed by the LDS Church.  And it has many LDS members a LDS staff.

I believe that in the SLC area there is a Constitution study group or two, and during the recent 18 months we were there I did get the chance to attend some interesting presentations, including by an LDS member of the Rothschild family, Prof Steven Jones, Jack Monnett, Joel Skousen, Chuck Baldwin, Ken Bowers, Hartman Recktor and I cannot remember who all else, all who have great insights into the attacks on our Constitution, national sovereignty, and basic freedoms.

Two evenings ago I gave a presentation (talk) to a group of recent college grads, most I'm sure flaming liberals, about the Constitution Party.  Other candidates also made their pitches.  I was almost shocked when my closing remarks actually brought some cheers.

"I have concluded that these and certain other national maladies have come about largely if not exclusively by departures of our government from the limitations imposed on it by the U.S. Constitution. I personally know of no president and of only two congressmen who have faithfully honoured their oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

"Folks, we are engaged in a battle royale, not between liberals and conservatives, not between Republicans and Democrats; but a battle between Americans who consider the US Constitution to be the supreme law of our land, and Globalists, who have for decades been slowly maneuvering America into a position of subservience to first a regional government AKA the North American Union, and then to a world socialist dictatorship. And men like David Rockefeller and former Secretary General of the U.N. Kofi Annan, among others in the enemy camp, have said so.

"At issue is whether we can preserve, and in some cases take back, the freedoms bequeathed to us by our countrys Founding Fathers. It is the intent of the Constitution Party, its candidates for elected office, and its supporters nation wide to put a stop to this slide toward a global government and reverse those maladies that are greasing the skids for it."

I was surprised and the positive reception of my mention of what we in church would call a secret combination (globalists).  Some other candidates were not happy with what I said, but others were, as well as many in the audience.  It seems like there might be an awakening to our "awful situation".

It's almost over.  I received encouragement and support from quite a few people, even from a couple in our ward.  But both my wife and I have taken some flak over my candidacy for Congress.  In spite of some ridicule and complaints about my possibly taking votes away from 'good', 'righteous' and/or 'more able' candidates, my candidacy for Congress has accomplished all that I had really hoped for.  It afforded me opportunities that I otherwise would probably not have had.  I was able to further awaken a good many people to a sense of our "awful situation" in this country.  It opened doors for me to discuss many of the benefits of government compliance with the US Constitution and constitutional principles.  And in many cases, I was able to make people aware of their responsibility to befriend the US Constitution.  Not that I expect them to do much of anything about it at this point.  To some Latter-day Saints I was able to explain three very important things they should know from the D&C and prophets.  First, that God holds men accountable for their acts in relation to government, both in making laws and administering them.  Second, the Lord established the Constitution of the United States by the hands of wise men whom He raised up for that very purpose.  And third, that Latter-day Saints are to befriend the constitutional law of the United States by being righteous, by learning the principles of the Constitution in the tradition of the American Founding Fathers, by becoming involved in civic affairs, and to exert their influence to bring our government into compliance with the US Constitution and its principles and return our government to its God-given, Constitutionally limited framework.  Sound familiar?

During this campaign I often pondered on the apparent ignorance of many good LDSs of "...things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgements which are upon the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms...".  It occurred to me often that most have no real opportunity to even access reliable information about those things, let alone any awareness of how to gather it and sort out between truth, partial truth, error and lies.  Hence it is so much easier to just assume that because a prominent church member is of a particular political persuasion that it is the correct or best one.  Yet we are told to make some very important judgements at the polls.  And I believe far too many are made in far too much ignorance.

I was favourably impressed with the general response of LDSs to the calls to support the proposed marriage amendment to the Arizona Constitution, especially on the phone banks. As the phone bank coordinator for our ward, I got refusals and excuses, but a fair number responded willingly.  I could not help but wish the stake and regional authorities had pleaded so fervently for the members to study the US Constitution and identify and support those candidates who are clearly "befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land." But I guess 1970 was about the last time LDSs were called to action on that issue. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKldpMBzMYs )
