Four day work week in Utah

Utah's government is moving to a four day work week. What think ye?

I think it should be optional. I get the rationale. but if one has to work 10 hours/day, this will create hardships in family/personal life, as well as possible extra expenses such as longer day care, etc.

Saying this, I do wish I could do a 4 day work week at my job. But for a couple reasons, my position doesn't allow it as I am fulltime.

eta: it would be different if the off days varied. But I think closing everything down on Fri makes it hard for those in jobs that already have a hard time getting govt related errands.

interesting the state liquor stores will still be open but that evidently DMV's,etc will be closed!

MrCoco already works four 10's and we love it!

Downside is... now he can't do all his "errands" on Fridays like getting his car license renewed or checking stuff at the courthouse or calling to see if it's legal to ride in a 5th wheel trailer or not...

I've worked 4/10 for over a decade. I love it. My wife and kids do too.

From the article:

"residents are being encouraged to use the Internet for hundreds of ordinary services, such as automobile registration renewals."
