Boy abandoned at Wal-mart

There was a note in his backpack explaining that the mom couldn't afford to feed him anymore. Of course, the whole thing was caught on surveillence tape and they are looking for the mom.

Oh. My. Gosh.

And to think I was appalled today when I heard that people were "smearing" their brands and setting their horses free to run with the wild herds of western Utah/Nevada cuz they can't afford to feed them anymore.

Interesting to think that not too many years ago, society made it much simpler to give up a child you couldn't care for... Now, it's more a case of throwing food stamps at the issue. Not saying one way is better than the other... just mulling the differences. Back in the day, no one expected the goverment to take care of them. Gah. Do I even have a point here?...

I'd want to keep some kid if I found it. He's mine! I found him! Seriously - there should be less red tape.

The price we pay to have the goverment running everything.
