We Got a New... Uh, "Pet"

So MrCoco finds this snake out by his work and brings it home. I. Hate. Snakes. Really. This one is a baby, though, so it's not so bad. In fact, on Saturday I actually held the thing. First time ever.

It's a baby Western Hognose snake, aka Blow Snake.

It's a little bigger around than a pencil and around 12-15" long. We named it Bandit, cuz it looks like it's wearing a Zorro mask.

Last Saturday I bought a baby mouse for it and it ate it alright.

Keep it away from your chickens, or it will be named "dinner."

Let it get a little bigger, kill it and eat it. Pan fried with flour and pepper is a really good way to eat snake.

coco, can you fix your link?  Or ask Arbi to do it?

All I keep thinking is....sneaky snake goes dancing, giggling, and kissing.  sing.gif

Non-venomous snakes are awesome pets. thumbsup.gif

coco, it isn't fixed.  Here's how to do it:

Type the word you want to replace the link.  You could say "linky" or "sneaky snake" or whatever.  Then highlight the word.  On the tool bar, you'll see a chain link (right next to the clipboard).  Click on the chain link thing.  Then paste the address where it says "link url."  Click ok.  And Voila!  fixed.

The link functions, but the length of it is what is making the screen so wide we need to scroll. If you follow Beefche's directions, Coco, that will fix the problem. biggrin.gif

Yeah, just like you have some aversion to clicking on links, I have an aversion to scrolling sideways.

How's the snake? Does it poo on ya when it gets too stressed?

No, that would be rabbits, I think.

Actually, it's disappeared. confuse.gif Thank the good Lord it was outside.

Snakes do it too. I've been the victim of such.

Years ago, when my sons were young, they had pet snakes. This started with a big king snake with a good disposition. This snake personality thing was a mystery to me until they got a rat snake that was ill-tempered. I would have to hold it while my son cleaned its cage and it would wet on me and disconnect its jaw so that it could bite me.

Because I would hold the things when necessary, my sons did not figure out that I found them nasty. So when the little escape artists would get out periodically, I could call for one of them to catch the thing without being teased or tormented. My oldest thought it was funny to wrap the king snake around his tummy and pull his tee shirt over it, then go out to torment neighborhood girls.

If you wouldn't like to accidentally find your snake wrapped around the plumbing when you go into the bathroom, you probably don't want one as a pet. I certainly didn't . rolleyes But the boys didn't catch on to that until they were adults. biggrin
