A little about me...

Thought I'd add a little meat behind the hello.

Originally, from southern New Mexico
Recently baptized and confirmed into the church.
Join the Navy at 17, made two deployments to the Persian Gulf (Desert Shield/ Desert Storm). I was homeported in the pineapple fleet at Pearl Harbor, HI.
I love to read SciFi/Fantasy books; Usually more on the fantasy side.
I enjoy playing PC games.
I'd rather hang out in the kitchen chopping veggies than watching a sports game on a big screen.
I'm a forum and email junky.
The only sport I enjoy playing even tho I don't think I'm that good is Racquetball.
I like to collect dragon posters.

Anything else just ask.

I'm gonna say the kind that doesn't have to be used.

Welcome

Well unless you want to count the Nerf or Super Soaker kind ;)

I take that back, I do like the 16 inch guns on the old battle ships. I mean anything that can move the whole ship backwards 20 feet in the water has got to be cool.

I don't hunt, and take no joy in shooting an inanimate piece of paper so I don't have a favorite gun.

I worked on a Guided Missle cruiser in the navy specifically the fire control radars. I was part of the ship board security team and did get to shoot the standard 45 pistol, shot gun, and M14 rifle. Kinda indifferent towards them.

Not sure I have a favorite fantasy author. I have alot of Terry Brooks books. I have enjoyed his Shannara series. Can't wait to see those made into movies. The lat time I checked his web site his Magic Kingdom For Sale Sold book was a good for being a movie, and was in talks for the Shannara series.

I read books like I watch movies for pure entertainment value (I love B movies). If I can read the whle book I will prolly get another book my the same author. Some books I haven't finished because they bored me to death like Childhoods End, and The Once and Future King.

I also have a bunch of books from the Dragonlance authors, I have enjoyed their book except for the Dark Sword series; great until the final chapter of the 3rd book.

You should try RA Salvatore's Drizzt books and the War of the Spider Queen series. Glenn Cook's Black Company was good too. Lots of great fantasy out there.
