I know, not everyone here enjoys this idea like I do, but this really sparks my interest in the whole mess that is this election year again.

I don't like him even associating himself with McCain. I don't like McCain and this makes me think Romney really just might do anything to get da powah.

I get that, Coco, but this is the only thing that keeps this election year from being a major drag. I don't know what Romney's motivations are. Maybe he's trying to make the best of the situation or maybe he's after the power. Maybe he is really motivated to get where he feels he can do some good. I will say this, I consider his motivations far less suspect than Hillary's, Obama's or even McCain's. Romney is pretty near spot on to my political beliefs and having the option even for just a veep makes me feel tons better about casting my vote.

I recently sent off the following email to Mitt Romney concerning his apparent political ambitions. It was based on my observations of Mitt Romney's political career since 2002, his July 2007 article in the Council on Foreign Relations' "Foreign Affairs Journal", and a couple of egregious statements he made during the so-called debates.
It appears that you are trying to set yourself up for 2012 by helping Senator McCain now. This action is hurting you, especially with many Latter-day Saint voters, by destroying your conservative persona and credentials. My suggestions to you are the following:
(1) Stay true to your LDS faith and truly 'befriend' the US Constitution. Instituting mandatory socialist health care in MA and publicly ignoring the responsibility of Congress to declare war have demonstrated disdain for the Constitution.
(2) Retract your endorsement of Senator McCain. He is a liberal and supports the program to create a world socialist dictatorship. You will regret your current support of John McCain. I suggest you now lend your support to one or both of the candidates who one might think actually have read D&C 98:6, Chuck Baldwin and Ron Paul.
(3) Help rally the Elders of Israel in the defense of the Constitution and basic Gospel principles. The Latter-day Saints are to in future be the solution to the problem, not part of it.
(4) Study what the Lord, and Latter-day Prophets and Apostles said and wrote about the US Constitution. I suggest reading the book 'A Glorious Standard' by LDS author Christopher S. Bentley. If given a mailing address, I will send you a copy. I had the privilege of editing and endorsing the book.
Hiccups, it's not surprising that he's pretty spot on to your beliefs. He's pretty spot on to many people's beliefs, from liberal to conservative. Are you against guns? Why, so is he! Are you for the right to keep and bear arms? So is he!

He's not *as* against guns as Obama. I also think Romney is the best qualified as far as the economy goes. He's definitely good with money. He understands business like none of the other candidates.

Unfortunately, Romnney seems to not understand certain constitutional principles, certain moral principles, nor what Joseph Smith experienced in the Spring of 1820. He has never, as far as I know, retracted or apologized for those blunders. To me his business success and LDS church activity cannot begin to compensate for his failure in any one of these issues, never mind all three of them. If success in the business world were a reliable indication of a person's savvy in the political/government arena, then we should be out cheering for McCain and Giuliani, since one Huntsman supported Giulani and the other still supports McCain.
