So, I got roped into taking the 7 Habits class at work. In the introduction (for those who haven't read the book or taken the class), it discusses principles and values--the definition and difference. There's about 7 of us in the class and while discussing principles, I piped up with some scripture--of course they didn't know it was scripture. I talked about how the principles and values need to be grounded on moral, true truths rather than something that if fleeting and unachored. I also talked about how when we have a foundation of true, moral principles we can be truly happy.
I was struck (again) on how the Holy Ghost will testify of truth....no matter if it comes during Sacrament meeting, at home, at work, etc. I remember a RS lesson once where the teacher said it is our responsibility to confirm truth to people when they speak it. And we don't have to testify by using the words, "in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
Do you have opportunities to testify each day? How do you find those opportunities?

That's great, beef. I agree that we'll be given opportunities to testify, even if the people don't realize we're doing it. There is a gal I work with who recently lost her mom. That gave me some chances to talk to her about the afterlife and her experiences and feelings about it. I think she may have some background in the Church but not much. During this time, also, I overheard her talking to another older lady in the department and the older lady was really speaking strongly about the meaning of life, etc. (the older lady is strong LDS) and I was thinking, "Some day I want to be like her."

I frequently do, mostly at work, people seem to find LDS interesting. It also comes as a result of how I act, or don't act, and that gets you noticed and people ask about it. I really enjoy testifying, spreading the knowledge of the Gospel.
I often prary to have opportunities. Once in a while I am blessed to give out a BoM. Just have to be careful with it at work.

Val, that's great that you've been able to pass out BoM. I haven't had the courage to do that yet. Just not sure when/how to take it to that level. Everyone here at work knows I'm Mormon (I pretty much let people know within 15-20 min of talking to me) and they have been very respectful towards me (no cursing, save the dirty talk for when I'm not around, etc).
Do ya'll know about this dude? I know him, he lives here in Indy and was mentioned by one of the Apostles recently. Really impressive his drive to spread the message.

I wonder if he was around when I was on my mission...? Funny, two of his favorite movies are Braveheart and Gladiator (rated R) which many LDSs might condemn him for yet it looks like he's kickin' most of our butts when it comes to missionary work.

Braveheart was an excellent movie....Gladiator was just ok for me.
I did notice on one of his entries (I check his blog every now and again) that he took the missionaries out to dinner on a Sunday. They did place some Church materials so maybe that cancelled out the "sin"?
